student can take on additional roles if team size is small or 2 students can take on a role
jointly if team size is large.

Ground Rules

Ground Rules
1. How and when will this team meet?
In the preparatory discussion’s slots allocated by the college and extend it as per the
requirements.

2. What are the norms and ground rules the team will agree to?
o Punctuality
o Responsibility
o Respect each other’s opinion
o Informal group meets
o Preparedness
o Attack the problem and not the person

3. How will you conduct discussions and make decisions? How will you handle
dissenting views among members?
o First a clear message would be sent to each group member about the topics
one has to come prepared with.
o It would be followed by each one of us sharing his/her viewpoints
o Reaching consensus by resolving the doubts/questions of the dissenting
member(s)
o Assigning a proper role to each member about the kind of task that needs to be
carried out individually

4. How will you hold each other accountable for living by these rules and for task
completion?
We would be working as a team and not as a group. Each one of us would be taking the
responsibility of every other member. It would be the responsibility of the team and not of an
individual to get the task completed in time along with quality submission.

Potential Barriers and Coping Strategies

1.What barriers to effective teamwork might potentially arise in the course of completing
your team obligations, and how will you handle them if they materialize?

 Free Riders will not be entertained

 If a conflict of opinion arises between members of the team it would be
sorted by mutual understanding and team will work on resolving the conflict.
2.What problems with team dynamics have you experienced, and how will you handle them
if they come up again?
Since we are a team of 7 people from different backgrounds, we experienced communication
gaps initially. We realised this within our first 2 group meets. We started having lunch
together to understand each other. This helped us in emphasising with each other and work
better as a team.

3. When will your group contact the Programme Chair/ Associate Dean for help or support?
If it comes to academic related questions for which we may need assistance from programme
chair/Dean, we would be meeting them as per their availability. In case of group discontent
we would try to resolve it within ourselves.
