Interactive Oral Activity: Course: Pre IB "A"

The document discusses the physical, psychological, and social changes that occur during puberty. Physically, boys and girls experience growth spurts and changes like developing breasts, pubic hair growth, and menstruation in girls or voice deepening and facial hair growth in boys. Psychologically, adolescents experience mood swings, greater curiosity, and developing identities. Socially, teenagers may start romantic relationships and exploring their sexuality. One consequence discussed is increasingly early puberty in girls, which can cause insecurity and complex formation if development differs from peers. The conclusion recommends that adolescents see psychologists to help cope with changes and that parents communicate with children to prepare them.

Topic: CHANGES DUE TO
PUBERTY

a) Setuat/Definition
Puberty is the time of life when a boy or a girl matures sexually. It is a process that
usually occurs between 10 and 14 years for girls and between 12 and 16 for boys. It
causes physical changes and affects boys and girls differently.
Puberty is the name given to the time when you begin to develop and when your body
goes through changes that turn you from child to adult. We are talking about issues like
girls developing breasts and children starting to look more like men. During puberty
your body grows faster than at any other time in your life, except when you were a
baby.
It is important to know the changes of puberty before they begin to occur. That way,
you'll know what you should expect. It is also important to remember that we all go
through these changes. It does not matter where you live, whether you are a boy or a
girl, that you like vanilla ice cream or chocolate ice cream; You will go through those
changes. There are not two completely equal people; but what we do have in common
is that we all go through puberty.

b) Causes
The principal causes in the puberty could be changes physicals; changes
Psychological, emotional and intelectual; and Social changes.
Changes physical by puberty
 Breast development
 Changes in body shape and height
In girls 

Growth of pubic, facial and body hair
The start of periods.
 For boys, physical changes usually start
around 11-12 years – but any time
between 9 and 14 years is normal. And for
girls start around 9-15 years.
In boys  Then the hair begins to grow in the pubic
area and the armpits.
 Voice changes.

In the girls: In the boys:

breasts. penis.
 Erections with ejaculation
 Menstruation (or period) is 

appears following the process
of puberty.
Changes Psychological, intellectuals and emotionals
A greater curiosity appears to know the world that surrounds it.
It is the last stage of the thought process, which makes it possible to mentally compose
the transformations made in reality, and not to remain with the purely perceptive data.
Think about your own thoughts, you can direct your affection towards certain ideas and
values and engage in some way with them. This is partly because your brain is still
learning how to control and express emotions in a grown-up way. As you moves
through puberty, these emotional mood swings will begin to settle.
Mood swings are common and most of the time you owe it to the hormonal changes
you'll have at this stage of your life. For a moment you feel relaxed and eager to reason
and the next moment, for anything, you lose control and you are already angry.
Social Changes
The teenagers might also be starting to explore her sexual identity and sexuality. This
might include romantic relationships or going out with someone special. These aren’t
necessarily intimate relationships, though. For some young people, intimate or sexual
relationships don’t happen until later on in life.

c) Consequences
Increasingly frequent
Studies show that it is increasingly common for adolescence to continue its
appearance, especially in girls: it is 20 times more frequent in their case. In the last 15
years, the age of menarche, the first menstruation, has advanced almost 12 months.
The reasons remain a mystery. The cause of this advance is not known with certainty,
in some cases it may be due to the increase in obesity, or it is even postulated that
some endocrine disruptors may be involved, such as pesticides.
This affects them
Precocious puberty has mainly psychological consequences, which originate in the fact
that its development is different from that of its partners. All children like to keep up with
others and differences are not welcome. Insecurity is also a breeding ground for the
appearance of complexes because they look and feel different to their friends and, in
many cases, they will have to suffer the hurtful comments of some. It can also have
physical repercussions since there is an accelerated bone maturation and, therefore,an
early closure of the growth cartilages and a low final height.

d) Conclusion
In conclusión puberty has to do much with stess in adolescents because it is a period
in which there is greater sentivity and are more likely to have a constant state of mind
without any explanation what will lead to a highlevel of stress.
Someone lose their tempers more oftenand get angry with their Friends or families.
I would recommend that the they visit a psychologist, not because they are crazy but
rather to help them cope with these changes.
Another recommendationsn is for parnets to talk with their childrenin time so taht en ter
these changes, they already know a Little about what should be done and not feel
strange.
