Dear Parents/Carers
We are so pleased that your child is back in school and I am sure that they will have a wonderful and
safe time with teachers and their friends.
Here are some points that I would really like you to read so that you know exactly what is in place here
at Fagley Primary School to help to keep your child safe and happy.
It is a requirement that children who have symptoms of COVID-19 stay at home.
It is essential that hand washing and respiratory hygiene routines are followed at home as well as
at school.
Extra cleaning arrangements are in place during the school day. Children will use the hand sanitiser
as they:
o Enter the classroom first thing on a morning
o After break as they enter the classroom
o Before lunch as they leave the classroom
o After lunchtime play as they enter the classroom
Where possible children will use soap and water rather than hand sanitiser. Please make sure that
your child washes their hands before and after school every day at home.
Active engagement with NHS Track and Trace is in place.
There is a reduced contact between children in classes and between classes to make sure that
distances are kept to minimise the potential for contamination.
Your child is in a class bubble to reduce contact with too many children and staff.
Please keep to the one-way system of bringing your child in to school in a morning and collecting
your child on an evening.
Please do not speak with Mrs Blythe at the moment between 8:40am and 9:00am. She is here to
greet your child and you can please arrange an appointment should you wish to speak with her.
Please write messages for the class teacher in your child’s planner or go to the office and leave a
message for the class teacher with Mrs Dalladay.
Year 5 and Year 6 children to enter school through the classroom door between 8:40am and
9:00am.
All children will leave through their classroom door at 2:45pm or 3:00pm according to the
arrangements made in July.
We are encouraging our children to walk and cycle to school to support your child’s health and well-
being and to avoid parking congestion outside the school gates.
Please do not gather together at the school gates or in the playground. Show your child how you
social distance from other parents and carers. We want our children to be experts at social
distancing.
Breakfast Club has started. Parents/Carers can drop their child off between 7:45am and 8:30am
to the Office. Please do not enter the school further than this.
After School Club letters will be sent out soon, taking into account the class bubbles so that the
mixing of classes is kept to a minimum. Parents may pick up their child by lining up with a 2 metre
distance between families at the entrance pavement to the school office.
It is so important that we have your current mobile number for Teachers2Parents text messaging and
contact regarding your child. We also require your email address. We intend to email school letters to
you and will send a text informing you of the email. This is to keep the touching of objects to a
minimum. You will always be able to ask for a paper copy at the office. Please fill in the attached slip
at the end of this letter, putting all siblings together on one slip, and return it to your child’s class
teacher or the school office.
For further details you will be able to read our risk assessment on the school website. This has today
been shared with all staff and will put onto the website on Friday. From Monday you can request a
paper copy from the Office Clerk, Mrs Dalladay.
I wish you all the very best in these difficult times. Please remember that we are always here to help
you and your family should you want to ask us.
Yours sincerely
Mrs C Parfitt
Headteacher
