Description

Actually there is no oil level. However the bottom space of the rubber cell is equivalent to
the level formed by atmospheric pressure and maintains a level surface. This surface
formed through atmospheric pressure is detected to indicate the oil level.
The Taijin OIL LEVEL GAUGE is a round indirect type and to facilitate readings to be
made from below, it is fixed at an angle. It is also provided with a high and low oil level
alarm contacts. The low oil level alarm makes contacts when the needle is at 0.2 on the
scale, while for the high oil level alarm, contact is made when the needle is at 9.8 on the
scale.
The symbols for the contacts are H and L. The scale on the front is graded from
numerals 0 to 10. These numerals do not indicate the proportionate volume of the oil,
but the proportional angle of deviation of the float. The float is positioned below the
lower surface of the rubber cell, and as it makes contact with the cell, a good quality
natural cork is perfectly dried and worked into a cylindrical form of use.
During inspection patrols check that the oil level is at normal value as against the
average oil temperature of the main transformer. When the oil level reaches a low of 0.2
or high of 9.8, the alarm contact will be activated.
Also, if the rubber cell should break, the insulating oil will enter into the cell. The rubber
cell will then gradually be lowered into the oil by its own weight, until on reaching the
bottom, the low oil level alarm will be activated. Discrimination between a true lowering
of the oil level and a breakage of the rubber cell can be made by joining a vinyl hose to
the main valve on the transformer or to the oil discharging valve of the conservator, and
by comparing the oil level as detected and the oil level as indicated on the dial oil level
gauge.
When the breakage of the rubber cell has been ascertained, but the transformer
concerned cannot be stopped and must continue operating due to power supply
requirements, it will be possible to operate it temporarily as a conventional open type
conservator by connecting to breather pipe to the oil filling valve of the conservator

Characteristics
The Model is suitable for indicating the oil level of power transformer filled with all kinds
of oil and has the characteristic of waterproof, shockproof and alarm contacts. The
needle of the model indicates the oil level by means of connecting it to a buoy and the
model has an alarm contact.
