 Draw an exterior wall

1.Choose Architecture from Ribbon Panel


2.Choose Level 2
3.Click on the intersection

and then connect each intersection until we create a rectangle.

In 3D view the room will look like this


4.Left click on the Wall and then we can see the wall’s properties.

5.We can choose different wall


6.Using Ctrl to select all the wall (Shift to unselect the wall), and then select Exterior – Brick on Mtl.
Stud

 Draw an interior wall


1. Change the wall properties to Interior – 4 7/8” Partition (1-hr) :R21

2. Choose the midpoint


3. Create each room

 Insert Door and Window


1. Select Window icon from Architecture
2. You can change the dimension of the window in the properties

3. Click edit type


4. Click Load

5. Select Windows
6. Choose Window-Sliding-Double

7. Choose 48” x 36” and then click OK

8. After you draw the window, you can use the arrow icon to flip the window over.
9. Create 9 windows

 DRAW A DOOR

1. Architecture -> Build -> Door

2. You can change the direction of the door using the double arrow
3. Create 4 doors

4. Choose mode -> Load Family


5. Choose Door

6. Select Door double flush panel


7. Choose 68” x 84”

8. Entrance door should be open inside not outside

9. 3D view should look like this

 CHECK THE ELEVATION


1. In the Project Browser, under Elevations, you can see the East, North, South, West
elevation

2. South Elevation

 Create new Level


1. Architecture, Datum, Level
2. From the endpoint of level 2, move up, and then enter 10’. After that move to the right
side until the dash line look like the picture. Then left click.

 HOW TO MAKE THE WALL UP TO LEVEL 3


1. Select the exterior wall and left click.

2. Go to the properties, look at top constraint, select up to level 3, click apply

 Second way
1. In 3D views
2. Select all the exterior walls (using CRTL)

3. In the properties, change the top constraint: “Up to level 3”


4. Click apply

 CREATE A FLOOR FOR LEVEL 2 FLOOR PLAN


1. Architecture -> build -> floor

2. Move your mouse inside the exterior wall, and you see the dash line
3. Click TAB button

4. Left click to confirm


5. Click on Mode, Check mark

6. Look at the properties, use the Floor Generic – 12”


7. Double click on level 2 floor plan

8. Do as the same as level 1


9. Choose yes

10. Choose Yes again


11. From the properties panel, choose material for your floor

 HOW TO AVOID LAYER OF THE FIRST FLOOR


1. In the properties panel, under Underlay, change Range from level 1 to None

 HOW TO SELECT THE WINDOW AT THE SAME TIME WITHOUT USING THE CRTL
1. Select one window

2. Right click -> Select All Instances -> choose In Entire Project

3. Click Clipboard, choose Copy to Clipboard

4. From Paste drop down menu, choose Aligned to Selected Levels


5. Choose level 2

6. Click OK
