It notes that reading the full poem provides context that can help deduce the meanings of unfamiliar words, as they are often related to other words in the poem. Looking for definitions within sentences and thinking about the overall meaning of the poem can also aid comprehension. Finding similar words and rephrasing unfamiliar terms in one's own words are further recommended for determining what those new words signify.
