General information
The Teglink bus is the communication link between the RT-CPU and the individual Controller Boards.
Layout Teglink Bus
Refer to Description Teglink Communication
Procedure
NOTE: The indicated versions of the screenshots below may vary from your versions. The versions used
in this procedure are related to the System SW Version 3.4.4.
NOTE: For intermittent Teglink Problems and if you are in doubt about a specific controller, repeat the
listed Diagnostics Functions as much as possible to stress the Teglink communication.
1. Shut down the Data Station and switch OFF the instrument.
2. Switch OFF the Power Supply ISE.
3. Unplug (only from the connectors) the following PCB's from the Controller Rack:
PCB Cuvette Control
PCB Fluid Clot Control
PCB Transfer XY Control
PCB Transfer Z Control
PCB Resource Control
PCB Abs Photometer
PCB FP Photometer
PCB ISE Control (if installed)
PCB Analyzer Control
Controller rack with plugged and unplugged PCB’s
4. Check that there are only these PCB’s inserted:
PCB Power Manager
PCB LED Supply FP
PCB Lamp Supply ABS
PCB Power Supply Motors
PCB RT-CPU
Controller rack with plugged and unplugged PCB’s
5. Log on as cobasservice.
Refer to Log on as cobasservice
NOTE: An Error can appear, but don’t have to. Close this Error Message.
Error 14.1681 Power low in 100V
6. Startup the Diagnostics Function and choose in the Basic Commands the function B0.9 Get PCB
Supervisor Version.
B0.9
If you get a Teglink error or no program version, change the PCB Power Manager.
CAUTION
Do never insert a PCB Power Supervisor instead of the PCB Power Manager.
7. Select the Diagnostics Function B0.8 Get PCB Power Control Version.
B0.8
If you get a Teglink error or no program version, change the PCB Power Manager.
8. Shut down the Data Station and wait until all processes are closed in the Boot Manager and press the
button “Cancel” if the Windows Shut Down Message appears.
CAUTION
Do not insert or plug in any PCB’s if the instrument is still switched “ON”.
9. Switch OFF the instrument and insert the board PCB Cuvette Control in the Controller Rack.

16.Shut down the Data Station and wait until all processes are closed in the Boot Manager and press Cancel
when the Windows Shut Down Message appears.
17.Switch OFF the instrument and insert the next following PCB’s:
PCB Transfer XY Control and
PCB Transfer Z Control in the Controller Rack.
NOTE: It needs both PCB’s for the check B0.7 Get PCB Transfer XY/Z Control Version.
18.Switch ON the Instrument, go to Start > Run and type “bootman” in the field. Press enter and start
afterwards the Bootmanager to start the Diagnostics.
19.Select the Diagnostics Function B0.7 Get PCB Transfer XY/Z Control Version.
B0.7
If you get a Teglink error or no program version replace the corresponding PCB.
Examples:
Teglink error from afailed PCB XY Controller
Teglink error from a failed PCB Z Controller
20.Shut down the Data Station and wait until all processes are closed in the Boot Manager and press Cancel
when the Windows Shut Down Message appears.
21.Switch OFF the instrument and insert the next board PCB Resource Control in the Controller Rack.
NOTE: The following PCB’s have to be also connected for the next check:
- PCB Rack Indicator Reagent
- PCB Rack Indicator Sample
- PCB Reagent Sense Lock Module
- PCB Sample Sense Lock Module and
- PCB Base Plate.
22.Switch ON the Instrument, go to Start > Run and type “bootman” in the field. Press enter and start
afterwards the Bootmanager to start the Diagnostics.
23.Select the Diagnostics Function B0.6 Get PCB Resource Control Version.
B0.6
Press the button Slio Versions.
Slio Versions
If you get a Teglink error or no program version, the problem could be one of these PCB's. Change all 5
PCB's together:
- PCB Rack Indicator Reagent,
- PCB Rack Indicator Sample,
- PCB Reagent Sense Lock Module,
- PCB Sample Sense Lock Module and
- PCB Base Plate.
Example:
Failed PCB Sample Rack Indicator or Sample Sense Lock Module
The PCB Resource Control might be also defective.

In case all hints and steps above did not help you to fix the problem, contact Global Customer Support
GCS for further support. Please provide following information’s:
- Complete Problem Report, if possible created not later than 2 days after the first Teglink Problem
occurred
- Date of first occurrence
- Frequency of occurrence
- Instrument specific data, e.g. Serial number
- List with already replaced parts and performed actions
- Any actions performed before the problem started, e.g. Maintenance?
- Special Instrument handling to force the Teglink problem, e.g. rack handling?
40.Shut down the Software and the Data Station.
41.Check that all controllers are correctly inserted into the Controller Rack. When all controllers are back on
their place, switch on the Power Supply ISE again and restart the Instrument in the normal way with
