Casestudy Programme

The document discusses several case studies of architecture and planning schools across India. It analyzes aspects like the schools' responses to context, climate, site conditions, and topography. Specific case studies examined include the School of Planning and Architecture in Vijayawada, Brick College of Architecture in Pune, NID in Gandhinagar, IIM Kozhikode, Amity University in Rajasthan, and Mar Ivanios College in Trivandrum. The analysis covers the schools' approaches to site zoning, building planning, recreational spaces, climatic considerations, and other design parameters.

ARCHITECTURE VIJAYAWADA
● ARCHITECT: Poredi, Shantanu and Manisha Agarwal, Mobile Office
● SITE AREA: 9 acres( half of proposed site)
● YEAR OF COMPLETION: 2018
● DESIGN PRINCIPLE: Brutalist architecture (expression of materials)
● CLIMATE: hot and humid climate (similar to Delhi’s climatic condition)
● CAMPUS GOVERNING BODY: Central Govt
● The overall design parameters like site zoning, climatic aspects, building planning, recreational
spaces etc: are solved efficiently.
● PHILOSOPHY OF ARCHITECT: “The tradition of disseminating knowledge and innovation relies on
diverse community experience. Focusing on the diversity of individuals and the vastness of a
community creates opportunities for variation and thereby learning. Interdependent programs
offer a multitude of interactive spaces that would be beneficial for a community experience.
Our ideas stem from an interest in developing interrelationships in which students would
participate in a non-hierarchical and rhizomatic nature of the exchange.”
