R F Engineer Job Description
(1) Data Analyzer :
• Handling optimization of new sites and clusters.
• Analyzing the drive logs on Tems Investigation 10.1 .
• Handling problems like Call drop, interference, handover failure (Analyzing KPIs and daily reports).
• Analyzing RF Drive Test generated through log files and verifying & testing of hardware upgrades and new
elements added to the network & keep track of all the up gradation activities.
• Monitor the data KPI’s and work on the worst cells affected.
• To analyze the GPRS & EDGE activity, to check the data throughput.
(2) RF drive test and Optimization:
Experience in the calculation of the strength of the signal,
quality of the signal and handover frequencies, neighbor list frequencies, and channel
interference of the signal, optimization and time dispersion of the signal using the TEMS
investigation Software GSM, TEMS 10.0.1
RF Drive test, Optimization & Analysis
• Analysis of OMC statistics for maintaining Network KPI’s
• Post processing of Drive Logs & Extracting Network info
• Post process Drive logs- Verify, Analyze & Generate Report
• Carry out Drive test using TEMS INVESTIGATION in idle/dedicated mode.
• Do the BSC Drive Test using TEMS investigations 10.0.1, analyze drive test log files
Identifying poor coverage and quality patches through drive test and making action plan to
resolve the same.
• Helps respective optimizer in Frequency Planning, Neighbors Planning, and Optimization of
the Network.
• Generated Coverage predictions, Co-channel/Adj-channel interference area plots,
suggested improvement of coverage by skewing sectors, down tilt/Up tilt, power
increase/decrease, by using better gain antennas.
• Site Auditing and Verifying Hardware, Tilt, Antenna height and Orientation, according to
the Planning Database.
• Analysis of weak coverage areas and providing solutions such as Repeaters etc.
• Solve the customers complain like indoor coverage, outdoor coverage, voice cracking etc.
• Resolve the ping pong handover, Handover failure; change the orientation of Antenna for Better
coverage.
• Analyzed the Drive test log files using TEMS Investigation. The activities included foot
printing of all the sites in order to control the site overshoot, cell dragging, interference
elimination, monitoring of RX Quality, two way neighbor relations, locating handover
failures, call drops, call blocks, coverage holes.
