This assignment is due on Thursday, February 27. It is worth 10 marks but one mark will be
deducted per day for late submissions.

Guidelines and expecations:

Use Arial, Times New Roman or Helvetica. Size 11 or 12. Text should be double-spaced.
Margins should be at least one-inch wide and your name and date must be printed at the top of
the page.

If you are caught plagiarising you will be given a zero and reported to the school. Plagiarism
means using someone else’s words or ideas without proper credit. For this particular assignment,
your analysis of the article must be your own and not copied from any other source. You should
use your own words when paraphrasing information. If you choose to quote directly from the
article, you must clearly mention the original source (for example the author or the interviewee)
and use quotation marks. You are being graded on your thoughts about the piece, so excessive
quoting will hurt you. For more information, consult Purdue Owl.

Suggested steps:

Skim through at least three of the articles before picking one for your review.

Don’t read on your phone. Use a computer at home or at school so that you can properly view
the text and images. You should then print the article and annotate it with remarks to make it
easier for you to write your review.

This is not an assignment that you can do in a rush! Make sure you give yourself adequate time
to carefully reread the piece multiple times and take time drafting your review.

You are not expected to do additional research, but do look up all unfamiliar words to avoid
confusion.

Pay attention to grammar and spellings. There are many websites such as Grammarly that you
can use to identify grammar problems.

Proofread, proofread, proofread before submitting!

Here are *some* questions you may want to address in your review:

- What is the main purpose of this article?

- How is the information presented in this article different from what you have read before?
- What kind of research has the author done?
- How would you describe the author’s style?
- Which details or facts stand out in this article?
- Does this article leave any questions unanswered?
- Does the author have a bias?
- How does the author capture the reader’s attention?
- What makes this article important?
- Has this article changed your view regarding the topic?
