Jollibee is the largest fast food chain and the most famous restaurant in the Philippines
As of 2019, there are more than 1000 Jollibee store franchise worldwide such as
Hongkong, Middle East, North America, Italy and many more
But where it all started?
Jollibee starts by its founder Tony Tan Caktiong president and CEO of Jollibee Foods Corporation was borrn
January 5, 1953 from Fujian, China.
Tony's father cook at a Chinese Temple.
From China they migrated here in the Philippines hoping that they may have a better life.
In 1975, Tony invested an ice cream parlor franchise from the once famous Magnolia at Cubao, Quezon City. For
that he opened 2 ice cream parlors that catered costumers.
After 2 years, the customer suggests and asked to offer other food on menu instead of just an ice cream.
Tony think to offer chicken and hamburger for he saw that Filipino loves it very much.
And after adding it on their menu they noticed that most people love it over ice cream.
This leads him to name the restaurant and search for an logo.
Tony is inspired by Disneyland Characters and he thinks that Bee will perfectly match the restaurant. Bee is the
basic creature who make honey from plant nectar which symbolize people who works happily on their company
He decided to Change Y to I for the Word Jolly and add Bee with the logo of red and white.
Tony observed that Filipino likes to smell the food first behind their tagline "LANGHAP-SARAP" ......and "BIDA
ANG SAYA!" refers to a happy place that the main offering is the joyful experience.
The favorite and most popular fried chicken is.... The Philippines' best-tasting crispylicious, juicylicious Chickenjoy
that is crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside.
Jollibee menu wanted to us, Filipino to feel nostalgic of true home food.
