Jig Saw Puzzle Templates

Recommended procedures:

Use 1/4” or 1/2” Baltic birch plywood. Plywood is stronger than solid
wood. The small pieces will take a beating and need to be as strong as
possible.
Use a spray adhesive that permanently bonds photos to the wood.
“Photo Mount” adhesive works great. Make sure the entire surface of
the photo is covered or it might peel off individual pieces.
Use a reposition-able adhesive to place the template on the photo.
When you are finished you can peel this off. You will need to clean
the temporary adhesive residue off the cut pieces before applying the
finish.
Finish both sides with any clear finish you prefer. We use clear shel-
lac because it is natural and kid friendly.
A beginner should practice on a piece of scrap.
