PNEUMATIC TEST PROCEDURE
1.0 SCOPE
This document covers the procedure to carry out Pneumatic testing in all pontoon weld joints
of tank 661-T-2001.

2.0 RESPONSIBILITIES
2.1 The QA/QC In-charge shall ensure that the structures that are about to be worked-
out using this method of statement has been checked thoroughly for the conformance
of SATORP standards.

2.2 The Safety In-charge should command the safety officer assigned in the area to act
decisively to ensure the safety of assigned workers and immediately assess if the
workers are properly provided with PPE’s.

2.3 The QA/QC Inspector should be constantly monitoring all the aspects with regards
to quality. He ensures the client’s quality standards are strictly followed and reports
all noncompliance by construction team to client’s representative

3.0 PROCEDURE
3.1 Identify the test portion for the completed line system wise

4.2 Test package shall be prepared with all relevant drawings marked with test limits, for
the completed lines and system for client’s approval

3.3 For pneumatic testing of pontoon access to the area of the test shall be limited to only
the personnel directly involved in the test or personnel involved in the inspection and
monitoring

3.4 During the pressure test the total pontoon welds shall be inspected and tested for any
leaks, if any leaks are found on welds the system pressure shall be totally released for
rectification.

3.5 Air is used as test medium for the pneumatic test

3.6 Test pressure is 70 mm H2O as per the client recommendation, the test duration is 5
minutes.

3.7 At time of the test soap solution is applied in weld areas.
