Most people believe that it’s important to look nice.
However, some people say that we place too
much importance on appearance and fashion.
A person usually chooses clothes based on his or her age, social class and financial position. People also
choose clothes according to her personality and character.
To my mind, if a person want to produce a good impression and to be successful, he or she must look nice.
First impression matters so, when someone is talking to you they pay attention what you wear. If you look
untidy everyone will try to avoid you. There is a saying “good clothes open all doors” and I agree with it.
But some people are trying to hard to look fashionable, they spend lots of money and still looking
ridiculous. There are some styles that surprise me. For example punks, goths or hippies. I don’t understand
why someone would like to wear razor blades as a earrings. But of course it is their choice. Nowadays
teenagers like black nail polishes and baggy clothes. Everything is acceptable but I think it ’s silly to
slavishly follow fashion.
In conclusion, I believe that people should pay attention to their clothes and appearance but it should never
become a kind of obsession.

Nowadays the word “fashion” is a synonym of beauty and glamour. Every shop offers a wide
choice of fashionable clothes that it’s hard to resist the the temptation to buy something new. But
is is worth it?
Personally, I think there are more important things in life than clothes. People waste a lot of
money on clothes and they speak a lot about fashion. I have pain of jeans, it is comfortable and
cheap and I wear it every day.
However, most teenagers say that clothes show their personality. Besides that clothes are first
thing people see when they meet you and it’s important to leave a favourable impression. They
carry different accessories such as bags, glasses, jewellery to attract attention. But I don’t think it
is wise to become fashion victim.
To sum up, I believe that clothes do not make the man. We need them to protect us from insects,
chemicals and other hazards. In my opinion the main thing about clothes is comfort and beauty
and style is less important.
The question of what pupils should wear to schools rouses strong feelings on both sides. Some people
give many reasons in favor of school uniforms. However, there are a lot of people who are against
them.
The problem of school uniforms is discussed in every school. The majority of pupils have a negative
attitude to wearing a uniform.
To my mind, the school uniform has many advantages. Firstly, some teenagers wear inappropriate clothes
in school such as short skirts and vulgar language. Secondly, teachers say that it helps reduce peer pressure
and improve discipline. School uniforms helps pupil realize that a person’s unique gifts and personality
goes deeper that their clothes.
However, some teachers think that clothes are not the main reason for bulling so it will continue regardless
of dress policy. Most pupils think that school uniforms interfere with their rights for self-expression. Also
some parents claim that uniforms are not cheap.
To conclude, I believe it is up to pupils, teachers and parents to decide whether children shoud wear
uniforms or not.
