To our beloved AR sisters, distinguished guests, our ever supportive parents, dedicated teachers and staff and to

my fellow students, a pleasant day to all.

2020 will be a year to remember. In the space of just a few weeks our daily lives have changed drastically. The
Covid 19 virus is affecting all of us, not only here but all over the world. Thousands of lives lost and thousands
more will die and suffer. Schools ended prematurely including our school, St. Augustine Academy. This
pandemic ruined everything my plans for this summer. Our friend’s sleepover plan, my family’s summer
vacation, summer classes, cousins outings are all cancelled. Instead I will be spending most of my time at home.
I wish that everything will be normal again. That’s why I said to myself, I want to help in fighting this dreaded
virus. I want it to stop so can enjoy my God given life. I want to be an important part of the society when I grow
up. I want to be one of the frontliners. I want to be a doctor, a nurse, a policewoman, a scientist, or someone who
can be of relevance if ever this will happen again. But I realized that I am just a child, a 12 year old child staying
at home as my only contribution. In order to attain my wishes I have to finish my education first. So you see, my
fellow students, education is very important, it should not be taken for granted. It is a key element of everyone’s
life today. It’s what makes us valuable and it shapes our future. We should be forever grateful to our school for
giving us the right education where God comes first and Christian values are taught.
Today we show our parents, our teachers and ourselves that we are ready to take on the next stage of our
academic life. We show them that we are evolving out of our baby stage. All this is possible because of everyone
here. On behalf of every student here I would like to thank every single teacher for changing our lives and
helping us learn more. They are the unsung heroes of today. They may not be in the frontline but they are the
ones who molded the frontliners into what they are now today. A great thank you from our hearts to our parents;
for all the immeasurable love, care, time , effort and discipline you are providing us. We share with you our first
taste of victory. To all the sisters of Saint Augustine Academy, thank you for allowing us to grow in your home.
You have enkindled our spirits with your love. To my classmates thank you for just about everything. The joy,
happiness, pain and frustrations that we experienced together. We aren’t just a batch. We’re a family, the leaders
of tomorrow, the movers of the society, the frontliners to come. Above all, we thank You Almighty Father for the
gift of life, the wisdom that You have bestowed upon us. We pray earnestly that You continue to guide us and
protect us from this pandemic today as we follow the direction towards the attainment of our dreams.
To this end I urged my fellow students to be one with me in giving back the honor and glory due to everyone
who had molded us to what we have become.
Thank you very much…
