We’re very proud to say that most of
the examples you’ll see are from our
very own Preview community. So if they
can do it, so can you! We’ll keep
showing some of the same accounts,
so you can see how they apply each tip
on their own account.

Let’s start!

7
Planning

Planning

8
Your Routine

Are you relaxed? Let’s start with post ideas 😊 👍

9
Your goal
You know what’s the easiest way to come up with
post ideas?

Knowing why you’re posting.

So before we start, let’s be clear on your goal.

So ask yourself this question:

👉 What do I want to use Instagram for?

Take a few minutes to really think about it.

🤔 Do you want to be social and build a community?

🤔 Do you want to solely sell your products?
🤔 Do you want to just post, have a good feed and
don’t worry too much about other things?

10
Tip: Need help staying focused and aligned
with your amazing goal? Write down your goal
and put it somewhere you can see everyday
(on your desk, on your phone, in your diary).

Your turn :)

11
In general, here are some goals people have:

1. Build a community
2. Build a personal brand
3. Have an Instagram presence
4. Make sales
5. Post for fun

You can choose one of these goals.

Or you can choose 2 (or more) of them.

It’s up to you.

If you don’t know where to start, choose one goal. For

example, you can’t go wrong with “building a
community”. Instagram is a social media platform
after all.

And if you have a new business and want to sell

something, you need someone to sell to… therefore
you need a community.

Ready to talk about post ideas?

12
Choose what to
post about
Now, let’s link your goal to post ideas.

For example:

If your goal is to use Instagram to grow a

community: prepare “community” posts.

This means posts to start conversations with people,

posts that encourage them to write comments and
engage with you in a fun and genuine way!

So what to post about?

🌈 You can go with the flow.

Think of your goal, and think of post ideas. We’re sure
you already have a lot of ideas and things you want
to talk about - don’t second guess yourself. Go for
it!!! Create, experiment, post, have fun!

Or:

13
⚡ You can structure your content if you prefer to
have a plan. This will make it easier to create your
posts.

How to structure your content?

This is the best and easiest way to do it:

👉 Choose 1 to 5 topics you want to talk

about on your account.

That’s it!

Can you think of 1 to 5 things you want to share?

Now think of these 1-5 topics as your “content

buckets”.

All you have to do next is fill these buckets with post

ideas.

Like this 👇

14
15
Can’t think of content
buckets?
You can create 6 different types of content:

1. Educational
2. Personal
3. Community
4. Promotional
5. Customers focused
6. Entertaining

Choose the types of content you want to post.

You can choose one, or you can choose more.

Now time to fill these buckets with post ideas.

Here are examples of post ideas for each type of

content / bucket.

“Motivational Quotes” in Preview App for entertaining
caption ideas. You can also use other categories based
on what is on your photo / video. For example: “Food”,
“Beach”, “Friend”, “Coffee”, “Dogs and Cats”.

22
How to organise your
post ideas?
Use a notebook, your Notes app (on your phone or
computer) or your favorite project management tool
to organise your ideas.

One folder = one content bucket.

In each folder, write a list of all your ideas for that
content bucket.

Here’s an example:

23
Map your
content
This is optional.

Now that you know what you want to post about, you
can “map” your content in your feed.

This will help you visualise what to post, when and

which order.

This is also great if you want to balance personal

and professional posts. Or if you want to balance
your different “content buckets” throughout your
feed.

We like to do this on a piece of paper, but you can

do it on your computer or just visualise it in your
head.

Keep scrolling to see an example.

24
25
Here is another example:

26
You can apply the same trick to content types
(like Reels versus normal posts) 😊 👍

If you prefer, you can use an

Instagram feed layout instead 👇

27
Choose a layout
A “layout” is how your posts are positioned in your
feed.

A layout helps you “design” your feed.

There are 9 main feed layouts you can create:

1. Normal
2. Tiles
3. Diagonal
4. Rows
5. Columns
6. Same background
7. Rainbow
8. Puzzle
9. Mix

Keep scrolling to see examples and tutorials for

each.

28
Normal
Let’s start easy. Post a photo, one square at a time.
There are a few tricks you can use to make this
layout flow. For example, pay attention to the colours
as well as the background of your photos. We will
talk about these tricks in the next steps.

29
Tiles
The most popular way to use the tiles layout is by
alternating between a photo and a quote. However,
you can get creative and alternate between any
other types of posts.

See tutorial.

30
Diagonal
You can also share the same types of post in
diagonal.

31
Rows
This layout looks like you are reading a magazine.
You can get very creative and tell a story, row-by-
row. For example, @denysblackvisuals uses one row
to share photos related to the same photoshoot.

See tutorial.

32
Line in Middle
The Line in the Middle is usually made of quotes on a
white background. However the Line in the Middle
can be another color or any other type of post you
want (it can be all Reels in the middle for example).
The line will guide your viewers as they scroll.

See tutorial.

33
Same background
Perfect if you want to keep your feed clean, or if you
want to show your products or outfits: use the same
background.

34
Rainbow
Rainbow feeds are rare. If you pull it off, your account
will definitely stand out. A rainbow feed is when the
colors in your feed change as you scroll down. It
looks like a rainbow.

See tutorial.

35
Puzzle
The trickiest part of doing this layout is maintaining
high quality of each single image after you split the
big image. You also want to make sure that each
individual photo makes sense on its own (otherwise
people won’t tap on it from the Hashtag or Explore
pages).

Download our Free Puzzle Feeds.

36
Mix
Last layout idea: you can mix any of the above
layouts to make your own creative feed. For
example:
• @cynthianyongesa: Rainbow + Rows
• @ebbyandi: Line in the Middle + Rows (each row =
the same outfit)

37
Choose a Hero
Post
This is optional.

We call a “Hero Post” a post that captures the

attention of people. It can get you more likes or
engagement than usual posts because it’s funny or
relatable.

Your Hero Post is something that stands out from the

other photos you usually post.

It doesn’t have to be something crazy.

Sometimes it can be as simple as:

• A funny or relatable quote
• A Before and After
• Instagram versus Reality
• Memes

Your Hero Post can be intriguing, informative,

educational or entertaining.

See the examples on the next page.

38
@tahititourisme posts a photo
with a Tahitian word every Tuesday.
People have to guess what it means.

39
@laurenastondesigns has 2 types of Hero Posts:
One of them are fun photos with her dog,
and the other one are giant flatly using
her products to create fun props.

40
@confidentmotherhood shares fun
and deep quotes about motherhood
for her children clothing boutique. Quotes that
her ideal customers (moms) will relate to. So she’s
not just posting about her products, she’s building a
community too.

41
Choose a color
palette
Optional but recommended for shops or if you build
a brand.

A color palette
= your signature look
= your branding.

This is great if you want your Instagram feed (and

brand) to be recognizable and look professional.

It might be one color that pops in some photos, here

and there, throughout the feed. Yet that one colour
makes the whole feed flow.

Sometimes it is a combination of multiple colours,

together, that create an entire vibe.

42
Do you already have colors for your brand?

• If so, infuse these colours in your photos and

quotes.
• If not, choose 1, 2 or 3 different colors that go well
together.

How to use the colors? 😊

The trick is to include the colors in some of your

photos or quotes (if you post quotes).

The colors can appear in:

• The background
• The subjects / objects
• The quotes
• Even the clothes

The color can appear in one of the above, or all of

the above.

43
Not sure where to start?

It’s ok. Keep it simple. Start with one color.

For example, you can start by using the same

background color all the time, or a pop of color in
some of your photos (like green from plants).

Scroll to the next page to see examples.

Useful tools to find a color palette:

• coolors.com
• Search on Pinterest “color palette”

44

and plants in the background

45
@sonia.bavistock
Pink + Purple

46
@gritandgrace.uk
Blue + White

background for quotes.

47
@confidentmotherhood
Brown + neutral colours

48
Choose a filter
What if you can’t or don’t want to stick to a color
palette?

Choose a filter.

Think of a filter as your visual signature.

It will bring the colors in your photos together, even if

you take photos of things that are a lot of different
colors.

49
People will also be able to spot your photo from a
mile away because they will know what YOUR posts
look like.

To start, choose ONE filter only and stick to it.

Using the same filter all the time is the easiest way to
make your feed look cohesive, very quickly.

There are many Filter Packs inside Preview App to

achieve different looks.

Explore the Packs and select the one that best

represents your business and the atmosphere you
want to create.

Keep scrolling to see some examples.

53
Choose a font
Do you share quotes on your page? Or other text for
your events, podcasts, Reels cover images or blog
posts?

The easiest way to make your feed look clean is by

sticking to one font, font size and color.

If you decide to use more than one font, make sure

they go well together.

Where to find fonts:

• Google Fonts (free)
• 1001 Fonts (free)
• Pinterest (search for “free font
combinations” for inspiration)
• Creative Market (paid)

54
@gritandgrace.uk
uses the same font all the time.

55
@confidentmotherhood
also uses the same font all the time.

56
@french.creative uses
handwritten fonts to fit her natural
Instagram feed design.

57
The background
of your photos
Ok, now you know that you need to keep your colors,
fonts, and filters consistent in order for your feed to
look consistent.

Are you still struggling making your feed look

cohesive? Is something not quite right yet?

This simple tip will transform your feed: Pay attention

to the background of your photos and quotes.

Keep it clean.

Don’t let the background distract from your main

subject - unless the background is part of your
strategy to get the attention of people, like a cool
feature wall or the Eiffel Tower.

Here are some examples 👇

58
@faithcreationsco keeps a
white background to keep her
feed clean and the focus on her
products.

59
@rain_ceramics has 3 different
backgrounds for his photos:
1. Wood background (table or wall)
2. Grey background (wall or cloth)
3. Leaf background (from the plant)

60
@caraosello alternates between:
1. Jewelry on a human (tan color), and
2. Jewelry on a grey background (on her
grey jewellery stand or box)
And she uses the “Tiles” feed layout to
alternate between the 2 types of backgrounds.

61
@knottedhoney: Beige background*
+ White background (white table, wall or cloth)

* Want a colored background? You can buy cheap foam

boards or big paper to use them as your backgrounds!

62
Where to find
photos for your
feed?
Don’t have photos?

Or need photo ideas?

Here are 4 options:

63
1. Find photo ideas on Instagram

Get inspired.
Type a keyword in the search bar of Instagram’s
Explore Page and look at different accounts. You can
find accounts from the Hashtag Pages too (look at
the Top Posts). What kind of photos catch your
attention? How can you be different and stand out?

64
2. Repost

You can use Preview app to repost photos, videos

and albums from other people on Instagram. If you
have a business and your customers tag you in their
posts, you can repost their photos / videos.

See the tutorial.

65
3. Use the “Free Photos” feature

Preview also has a “Free Photos” feature. You can

use any of the millions of beautiful photos you want,
for free.

See tutorial.

66
What hashtags
to use?
Ok - now you know how to design your feed.

Let’s move on to the next step - hashtags - so that

people can find your posts.

Hashtags = free advertising.

Hashtags are extremely powerful.

Thanks to hashtags that’s how:

• Your posts can be in front of the right eyeballs 👀
• You connect with communities
• The Instagram algorithm becomes friends with
you
• People can find you because your posts are
searchable
• You can get featured on other people’s accounts

So which hashtags should you use?

Mix these up:

67
👉 Use up to 30 hashtags.
30 hashtags is the official Instagram hashtag limit
per post. Use between 15-30 hashtags. Each
hashtag is an opportunity to reach more / different
people.

🎉 Use a mix of hashtags.

Select some big, medium and small hashtags.
Big: over 1 million posts.
Medium: 100,000 - 1,000,000 posts.
Small: Less than 100,000 posts.

🤓 Use hashtags that describe who you are.

Are you a photographer? Use photographer
hashtags.

❤ Use hashtags your ideal customers use.

Do you have a business? Your hashtags might not
be what you think. For example, if you sell cute
pens, think about who will want cute pens: like
women business owners #womenentrepeneurs.

✅ Use hashtags that describe what you offer.

Use hashtags that describe your product/service.
This will help people find you directly when they are
looking for something specific.

📍 Use location hashtags.

Are you a local business? Use location hashtags.

68
Big hashtag
#business has 75.7 million posts.
It’s crowded and competitive. Your posts will be
buried in the ocean of other posts fast.

69
Medium hashtag
#businessstrategist has less posts. It’s less
competitive and more targeted. If you are a
business strategist and people are looking for this
type of person and content, you have more chances
to be seen here.

70
Small hashtag
#smallbusinesscommunity is more niche. It gathers
specific people: small business owners. Because
there are not many posts yet, your post could get in
the Top Posts section more easily.

71
Where to find
good hashtags?

3 places.

1. Instagram
• Open the Explore page in your Instagram app
• Start typing an important keyword in your industry
• See what comes up on the “Tags” page

Keep scrolling to see an example 👇

72
For example: if you are a wedding photographer, you
can type “weddingphoto” and then see what comes
up. Then continue and type “weddingphotograph”.
Stop and see what comes up.

Write down the hashtags that you want to use.

73
2. People’s hashtags
• Find people who are leaders in your industry
• Or who are attracting people like your ideal
customers
• Or who are in the “Top Posts” section on the
Hashtag Pages
• Look what hashtags they are using
• Write down the ones you want to use

74
3. Hashtag Finder in
Preview App
We’ve already done the research for you and
created hashtag groups for different accounts,
industries, countries, communities, businesses and
target customers/clients.

There are also hashtags to help you get featured on

other people’s accounts.

You can find hashtag groups created for:

• Entrepreneurs
• Coaches
• Photographers
• Artists
• Creative businesses
• Etsy businesses
• Handmade businesses
• Jewellery businesses
• Fashion and accessory brands
• Women business owners
• Spiritual business owners
• Hairstylists & Makeup artists
• Bloggers
• Content creators
• Healthcare professionals
• Holistic health
• And much more

So where is it?

75
Open your caption:

76
Press “Find Hashtags”:

77
Type a keyword in the search bar
(like what you do, what’s on the photo, a location)

78
“Add All” the hashtags in your caption,
or…

79
Or only add some hashtags one-by-one:

Tip: Preview already mixed big, medium, small and

community hashtags for each category. You can
use a hashtag group as is, or you can mix and
match hashtags from different categories.

80
4. Your Top Hashtags
Are you already using hashtags?

If so, you can see your Top Hashtags in Preview too.

You can see which ones already give you the most
likes, comments and engagement. If you’re
planning to change your Instagram strategy, no
problem. Just come back in a few weeks to see
which hashtags are your Top Hashtags.

81
5. Your Competitors’ Top
Hashtags
Preview also has a Competitor Analytics feature. Just
type their username and see their analytics.

You can see their “Top Hashtags” as well. These are

the hashtags that are working really well for them.

82
Ok, now you know:
✅ How to start designing your
feed
✅ What hashtags to use
✅ Where to find good ones for
your account.

Now, let’s talk strategy and

scheduling to save time and
eliminate stress.

Time to create your own unique

system:

83
How many times
a day (or week)
should you post?

Our advice might be different from others.

In our opinion, there is no right or wrong answer.

Our recommendation is to choose a schedule that

works for you and your life (especially if you’re using
Instagram for fun, or you are growing your own
business).

A lot of us can get seriously burned out while trying

to post consistently on Instagram.

To this we say:

👉 Your goal is to be consistent,

not burned out.

84
So choose a routine that works for you and your life.

“Ok, but how many times do you

recommend though?”

We see Instagrammers posting everyday and they

are growing a lot.

We see other Instagrammers posting every second

day and they are growing too.

And we also see other Instagrammers posting twice

(or more) a day and they are growing a lot as well.

Moral of the story?

👉 Choose a schedule that you can

stick to, realistically.

You can post everyday if you want to.

And you can also post every 2 days if you want to.

85
If you’re new to the Instagram world, we recommend
you start simple. You can always post more later.
Posting every 2 days is a great start.

“Should I post everyday or multiple

times a day?”

If you can create quality content, you’re having fun

and your mental health doesn’t get damaged: go
ahead.

Examples of routines

Which one do you want to choose?

You can always change later.

👉 Post everyday
👉 Post every 2 days
👉 Post every 3 days
👉 Post everyday of the work week
(weekend off)

86
Prepare your
content
Do you have other things to do?
Is Instagram taking too much of your time?

Then use this trick:

👉 Choose one or two days (like Monday or

the weekend) to prepare a bunch of content
in advance.

For example, you would prepare a bunch of quotes,

tips, photos, videos or Reels in a day (or 2) for the
entire week or month.

Now, we’ve got to say this 👇

87
Don’t put pressure on yourself.

This is your moment to have fun and create!

Make it fun for yourself - and enjoy the process.

You’ve probably heard it so many times, but

seriously:

What’s the point in creating if you’re hating what you

do? What’s the point of posting if you’re stressed?

Just to get… “likes”?

Just to get… “more followers”?

Common!! Have fun!!! Relax!!! Put yourself in your

creative zone. Make yourself a cup of tea, grab some
snacks, put music on if you want to 😄

Smile and have fun creating your awesome posts 😊

If you can’t prepare your content in one day, it’s

totally fine.

88
We know for some people it depends on the type of
work you do. We’re thinking of artists, handmade
business owners, etc… who need to take actual
photos of their products.

Here are some solutions:

💡 Always take a bunch of photos of your products
whenever you’re in the process doing something
(like painting, creating your products)
💡 Take behind the scenes photos
💡 Photos of our workspace
💡 Take multiple photos of the same products in
different angles / settings
This way you’ll always have photos available to post.

Now let’s talk again about preparing your content so

you can post consistently without freaking out.

Let’s say you want to schedule your feed one week in

advance.

If you decided to post every 2 days, then you need to

prepare 4 posts for the week.

4 posts doesn’t seem too bad, right? 😊

89
Choose a routine that fits you:

How many posts to

Routine
prepare for the week

Post everyday 7 posts

Post everyday of the work 5 posts

week (weekend off)

Post every 2 days 4 posts

Monday, Wednesday, Friday,
Sunday

Post every 3 days 3 posts

Monday, Thursday, Saturday

Post once a week 1 post

90
Plan your feed
Ok friend! You’re ready to schedule your feed!

Let the fun begin!

Let’s put everything in action.

Let’s plan your feed in your Preview app.

We recommend you plan your feed a week in

advance (or more if you want).

This way, you will spend less time worrying about

what to post and more time interacting with people.

And if you have a business, you’ll have more time

creating your amazing products / services, and
running your amazing business 👍

To start, you need to upload new posts in the app:

91
As you can see you can plan
4 things in Preview:
1. Normal posts (photos, videos, carousels)
2. Reels
3. IGTVs
4. Insta Stories

92
To upload a new post,
press on the + button:

93
You have a few options:

Library: Select photos / videos from your phone

Carousel: Create an album
Repost: Repost other people’s photo/video/
carousel/Reels or IGTVs
Free Photos: Use any of these beautiful photos
for free

94
Your posts will appear
in your Preview feed:

95
Rearrange the
order of your
posts
Now you can move your posts around to create the
feed layout you want.

There are 3 ways to move your posts:

• Drag and Drop: Hold your finger pressed on one

photo and drag it to move it somewhere else.
• Swap: Select 2 photos and press the “swap”
button.
• Shuffle: Select more than 2 photos and press the
“swap” button.

96
Drag and drop:
Hold your finger on one post,
and drop it somewhere else.

97
Swap and Shuffle:
Select 2 (or more) posts
and press on the “Swap” arrows

98
Edit your photos
Want to edit your photos?
Select a photo and press on the “edit” button:

99
• The filters = at the bottom of your screen
• Editing tools = the top left button
• Filter Packs = top right button to get more filters

100
Prepare your
caption
You can write your caption in advance here:

101
Save your
hashtag groups
This is a great way to save time.

You can save your favorite hashtags in Preview, as a

“hashtag group”.

This way, you can

add them in your
future captions, in
one tap, whenever
you need them.

See the tutorial.

Tip: Create at least 3

different hashtag
groups. Preview will
automatically test
them for you to show
you which one works
the best for your
account.

102
Caption ideas
Don’t know what to write?

Or maybe you want caption ideas to get more

comments?

Or you have a business and you’ve run out of

caption ideas?

There are over 3,000 caption ideas at your fingertip

(for personal and business accounts) in Preview
app.

Here is where to find the caption ideas 👇

103
Press on “Find Captions”:

104
Type a keyword related to your brand, season,
holiday in the search bar to see the recommended
caption ideas for you:

105
Note:
New captions will be added during the year
to celebrate key holidays like: Valentines’ Day,
Mother’s Day, Summer, Fall, Halloween,
Winter, Christmas, End of Year, New Year, etc…
This way you can always stay on trend.

106
Find hashtags
Like we’ve shown you earlier, this is where you can
find hashtags for your post:

107
Change your
cover image
Let’s say you uploaded a video in Preview.

You can change its thumbnail / cover image.

This way you can truly preview how it will look like in
your feed before you post on Instagram.

This is also great if you want to test different cover

images to see which ones fits the best with the rest
of your feed, or which one would catch people’s
attention the most.

Keep scrolling to see how to change it 👇

108
To change your cover image:
• Press on “Edit”
• “Set Cover Image”
• Slide the slider to choose a clip from your video, or
• Upload an image from your camera roll

109
Schedule your
posts
To schedule a post in Preview:

• Select the post

• Go in the caption
• Turn on the “Schedule Post” button
• Choose a day and time

110
Plan with your
team / friends
You can share your Preview with as many people as
you want.

This way, you can work together, at the same time.

See the tutorial.

111
See your
performance
You’ve posted. Now what? Check how your account
and posts are going.

As soon as you open your Preview analytics, you will

see your weekly summary (this is one of our favorite
features). This is a great way to see in a few seconds
how your account is going overall.

112
If you see “green”, it’s a sign more people are seeing
and liking your posts. You’re on the right path!

Quick tip:
All the graphs in Preview are interactive. Just tap on
a blue bar to reveal your Top Posts. So for example, if
you see a “Spike” 📈 tap on it to see what you posted
to create this “Growth Spike”.

113
Insta Story

114
The difference between posts and Insta Stories:

115
Posts on your feed will help you get discovered by
new people.

Insta Stories will help you connect even more with

your current followers.

So what can you post in your Stories?

Let’s have a look 👇

116
Insta Story ideas
So what can you post in your Insta Stories?

We all have different accounts and preferences.

We’re going to share with you 6 different Insta Story

strategies / flows.

For each flow, we’ll show you Insta Story ideas.

The 6 Insta Story flows are:

1. Show your daily behind the scenes

2. Create a weekly Insta Story routine
3. Create Insta Stories that are based
on your feed posts
4. Provide value
5. Connect with your community
6. Sell

You can use one or more of these ideas.

Choose what that resonates with you the most.

117
Idea #1. Daily behind the
scenes
Perfect if you:
• Want to grow your personal brand
• Want to grow a community
• Have a small business
• Want to show up on your Stories consistently but
you’re not sure what to do

What to do?

You have 2 options:

Option 1. Go with the flow and pick up your

camera when you feel like it, or

Option 2. Give yourself a structure that you

can stick to.

Let’s have a look at both options.

118
Option 1:

Whether you have a business or not, you can simply

check in at different times during the day whenever
you feel like it.

Here is the trick:

Document your life.

Don’t overthink it.
Just pick up your camera and take a photo or video.

If you’re hesitant, here’s a challenge for you:

Just for one day, document your life.

Just one day.
Capture what you like around you. Capture what
makes you smile, what makes you happy, or what
you’re going through, what you’re doing, what you’re
accomplishing, what you’re about to do. Just keep
people updated.

119
Option 2:

Give yourself a daily Insta Story structure.

How?

Segment your day into 3 parts:

Ask yourself: “When is it the best during my schedule

to show up in my Insta Story?”

This is great if you have a business and want to

show up in your Stories but you also “have other
things to do than stay all day long on Instagram”.

Choose when you want to show up. You can show

up in the morning, during the middle of the day or at
the end of the day. Or just in the morning, or just at
the end of the day. Or after beginning or completing
certain tasks.

120
Here is an example of structure:

Story ideas:
👉 Share what you’re
planning to do today
👉 What you’re
working on
👉 How you’re feeling
👉 Your to-do list of
the day

121
Story ideas:
👉 Share what you’re
doing
👉 What you’ve been
working on so far
👉 How far you’re up to
in your task
👉 Share what you do
during your break,
Share things that inspire
you (quotes, memes…)
👉 Answer someone’s
question (if you received
a DM for example - it
makes your Stories more
dynamic and personal
#community)

122
Story ideas:
👉 Recap your day

👉 Share what you’ve

done
👉 Share how today
went
👉 Share what you’ve
accomplish, what you
didn’t get to do and will
do later, what ideas you
got.
👉 You can even ask
people how their day
was and insert a poll
sticker to get them
involved.

123
Here’s an example of planning your Insta Stories in
Preview app and segmenting your Stories into
“Morning”, “Mid-day” and “End of day”.

One folder = one series of Stories for the Morning.

Another folder is another series of Stories for Mid-
Day. Etc…

124
Idea #2. Weekly Routine
Don’t want to think too much?
Would you prefer to follow a routine?

👉 Create your own Weekly Insta Story Routine,

that you can repeat every single week.

There are 2 ways you can do this:

Option 1. Choose a theme for each day

of the week, or
Option 2. Use Insta Story Stickers to
make each day flow.

Let’s look at each option.

125
Option 1:
Choose a theme for each day of the week.

Example:
👉 Monday motivation
👉 Tuesday tip
👉 Wednesday wellness
👉 Thursday throwbacks
👉 Friday favourites
👉 Saturday self-care
👉 Sunday Recap

Here’s an example of Insta Stories planned in

Preview using this strategy:

126
Option 2:
Use Insta Story Stickers to make each day flow from
one to the next based on what people answered the
previous day.

👉 For example, if people voted for “Caption Tip” on

Monday, you can post a caption tip on Tuesday.

127
Idea #3. Stories based on
your feed post
Create Insta Stories based on what you post on your
feed before, during and after you post on your feed.

For example:

Let’s say you want to share an Instagram tip on

Tuesday.

Before:
On Monday,
you can ask
people 👉

128
During:

Let’s say the majority of people voted for “Insta Story

tip”. It’s now Tuesday. Post the tip on your feed, then
post in your Story a teaser, followed by the new post:

129
After:

Ask if people have more questions about your post

or the topic you shared. You can also provide bonus
tips related to the post in your Story. Example:

130
Idea #4. Stories to
provide value
Is one of your goals to educate and help people?

You can use your Insta Stories to provide extra value.

Here are some ideas:

Ideas:
👉 Tutorials
👉 Tips and tricks
👉 Ideas
👉 Inspiration
👉 Solutions
👉 Educational Q&A
(“What do you need help with?”)
👉 Give extra value that you didn’t give
in a feed post
👉 New blog post alert

131
132
Idea #5. Stories to
connect with your
community
Just like posts, ask yourself:
“How can I start conversations with my people in my
Insta Stories? How can I get closer to them? And
what would I love to share with people?”

🔥 Use Insta Story Stickers!!!!

133
Ideas:
👉 Do a Q&A (“Ask me anything!”)
👉 Quotes that resonate with you
👉 Polls (Give people choices and ask them
to vote & choose)
👉 Insta Story templates that people can
screenshot and post in their Stories
👉 This or that?
👉 True or false?
👉 Would you rather ___
👉 Should I ___ ?
👉 Ask people for help
👉 Ask for people’s opinion
👉 Assumptions (Use the “Question” sticker to
ask: What assumptions do you have about
me? Then debunk each answer you get)
👉 Show me a photo of ___ (get people to ask
you to show a photo of anything they want)
👉 Feature your favorite Instagrammers

134
Ideas:
👉 Feature your favorite posts of the week
👉 Feature and celebrate your customers
👉 Your behind the scenes
👉 Day-to-day activities
👉 Your daily routine
👉 Morning routine
👉 Night time routine
👉 Work with me Wednesday
👉 Follow me around
👉 Friday favourites
👉 Which one do you prefer?
👉 Which one would you choose?
👉 “You decide what I do for the day” (use the
poll stickers to let your followers choose what
you do during the day)
👉 To-do list (with checkmarks and check-in
during the day when you complete a task)
👉 Challenges (create a challenge and get
your followers to do it with you)

135
136
Idea #6. Stories to Sell
Do you have a business?
You can use some “Community” Stories.
And then you can mix in some Stories to sell.

Ideas:
👉 Show your behind the scenes
👉 Show sneak peeks
👉 Work in progress
👉 Countdown until your launch
👉 Reasons why people will love your new
product/service
👉 Your favorite thing(s) about your product /
service
👉 Before & Afters
👉 Customer reviews / Testimonials
👉 Best sellers
👉 Coming soon
👉 Restock countdown

137
Ideas:
👉 3 reasons why…
👉 Benefits of…
👉 Your / Your team’s favorites
👉 Customers’ takeovers
👉 How to use / style your products
👉 Haul
👉 Share your customers’ posts in your Stories
👉 Re-share customers’ Stories in your Stories
👉 Results
👉 As seen in / on…
👉 Client messages / emails loving your
product / services
👉 Your products
👉 Different collections
👉 Ideas of how to use your products
👉 Share Freebies
👉 Facts about your products (like where it’s
made, how long it takes to create)

Here are some ideas:

139
140
How many
Stories should
you post a day?

If you have a personal account:

What we recommend: if you feel happy to post and
you just can’t wait to share or show something:
Do it!!

Insta Story is a very personal platform. People can

feel your energy through the screen. So if you feel
excited, they will be excited too, and they will keep
watching.

If you have a business:

1 - 10 Stories (more if you can keep your audience
engaged; which means the majority keep watching).

141
What if you don’t know where to start?
Post at least one Story a day.
If you follow the ideas we shared above, you will
have plenty to talk about each day of the week.

How many Stories in total should you

post in a day?
Between 1 - 10. As you get more comfortable and get
more ideas, you can post more.

142
How to get more
Story views
This is what we found helped the most:

❤ Be human
Talk like you would talk to a friend.
Start conversations. Ask questions. Share stories.

😱 Use Insta Story Stickers

A must. Stickers are a great way to interact. Use the Insta
Story stickers: questions, polls, etc… The more people
interact, the more Instagram will be like: “Ok, a lot of
people are interacting, let’s show your Stories to more
people!”

📈 Show up consistently
Post once a day (even if it’s just sharing a quote, customer
posts, or photos that inspire you).

✌ Post twice a day

Optional, but we noticed we get more Story views if we
post multiple times during the day, at different times.
Example: Morning and afternoon.

🚀 Add a Sticker on the first Story of the day

If you can, add a Sticker for the first Story you post.

143
How to plan your
Stories ahead
Do you have your photos, videos or images ready?

You can schedule your Stories in your Preview App:

144
Just like we showed you before, you can organise
them by day or by category.

For example:

145
Rearrange the order
of your Stories:

146
You can prepare your Swipe Up links too:

Don’t have the Swipe-Up feature on

Instagram yet? Try these tricks.

147
Preview your Stories as if you had
already posted them on Instagram to see
how your Stories flow before you post:

148

trick people to open the
Reels in full screen (to
potentially increase
engagement). However,

easier for your followers
to see and read your
content, we recommend
you stay within this
space.

161

Let’s talk about strategies.

1. How does the Instagram algorithm work?

2. Your Top Posts
3. Reposting Top Posts to boost your account
4. How to get more comments
5. The 10 minute trick

Let’s start.

191
How does the
Instagram
algorithm work?
Don’t focus on the algorithm.
Focus on:
• Creating good content
• Being human
• Helping people

If you follow the tips we’ve given you so far, you won’t
have to worry about the algorithm. You will grow. No
doubt about it.

With that being said, you might still ask:

"Ok, but how does the algorithm work though?”

Instagram has not revealed how it works.

But from trial and error, this is what we found:

Check your Top
Posts

What are “Top Posts”?

They are the posts that gave you the most growth.
They boosted your account. They are posts that got
you the most likes, comments, engagement, clicks to
your websites, new followers, etc…

Why should I check my Top Posts?

Because:
1. They will help you grow your account,
2. They will help you know what to post if you ever
feel stuck or uninspired

How can they help me grow my

account?
By creating more posts like your Top Posts.

194
Should I always post posts like my Top
Posts?
You can if you want to. But you don’t have to. You
can sprinkle Top Posts here and there throughout
your feed. This way your account will be boosted and
will continue to grow naturally.

Example 👇

throughout the feed?

195
If I don’t post the Top Posts everyday,
how often do you recommend I post
them?
It depends what your Top Post is.
But try once a week. This way, every week, your
account will naturally get boosted.

How to get more
comments?
How to get more comments on your posts?

6 ways:

Let’s look at some examples:

208
Caption Starters

What is a Caption “Starter”?

It’s the words you use at the start of your caption.
It can be a question or a catchy sentence.

Examples:
👉 Have you ever done this?
👉 I never thought I’d say this to anyone, but here we
go…

209
Play games

Examples:

👉 Emoji games
How would you describe ___ using emojis only?
👉 Guessing games
Guess how many ___ I have?
👉 Find something hidden in the photo game
Can you find the frog in the photo? Leave a frog
emoji in the comments once you find it!

210
Ask questions

Examples:
👉 Ask your followers for recommendations
👉 Ask people to choose their favourites (perfect for
carousel post)
👉 Do a Q&A
👉 Ask your followers to choose between 3 things
(perfect for carousel post - see the photo below)
👉 Ask people to introduce themselves
👉 Ask for people to share their opinions on a topic

211
Get personal

You know how you get closer to someone when they

are being more personal with you? When they open
up to you about something?

Or when they start sharing a personal story, or facts

you didn’t know about them? Or when you can relate
with something they’re going through?

Examples:

👉 Write like you would

talk to a friend
👉 Fun facts about you
👉 Something that has
been on your mind lately
👉 How you’ve been
feeling lately
👉 Something that you
struggled with
👉 Something you’ve
accomplished

212
Call-to-action

Ask people to leave a comment at the end of your

caption or in the last slide of your carousel post.

Examples:
👉 What do you think?
👉 Leave an emoji in the comments if you liked it

The 10 minute
trick
Recommended if:
✅ You have a new account
✅ You don’t get many comments yet
✅ You want to build a community
✅ You want to increase your engagement
✅ You have a new shop/business

Engagement starts with you.

Want more engagement?
Engage to get engagement in return.
Comments to get comments in return.
Like to get likes in return.

How?
Use the 10 minute trick:
👉 Engage 10 minutes before you post, and/or
👉 10 minutes after you post.

215
Who to engage with?
You have 4 engagement options (see below).
Use one, 2 or all of them.

Choose to do what feels right for your account.

You can try 1 option for 1 month. And then you can try
another option for the next. Feel free to experiment.
You can’t go wrong.

Option 1: The Hashtag Boost

What to do:
1⃣ Go on a Hashtag Page where your ideal
followers (or customers) are
2⃣ Open the “Recent” tab
3⃣ Leave genuine likes and comments on a
few different accounts

Do this for 10 minutes.

216
Option 2: Give back to your likers

Likers = people who like your posts.

What to do:
1⃣ Check your like notifications
2⃣ Go to some accounts
3⃣ Like some of their posts too :)

Be genuine about it!

If you enjoy their content: let them know too!

Why would this help?

It shows that you pay attention to who came to your
account and you appreciate their support. Plus, the
algorithm recognises when people engage with
each other, and will show your posts to them again.

If you have a new Instagram account, this is a great

way to start building your community.

217
Option 3: Give back to your
commenters

Are people commenting on your posts?

Same as before, but here focus on the people who

write comments on your post:

What to do:
1⃣ Check out their account
2⃣ Like some of their posts, and/or
3⃣ Comment on one of their posts if you
have a genuine comment in mind

218
Option 4: Choose Target Accounts

Recommended if:
✅ You want to collab with specific brands, or
✅ You want to attract a specific audience to your
account

What to do:
1⃣ Make a list of 5 accounts you want to
engage with regularly. These accounts need
to be accounts that your ideal followers/
customers follow (it can be more than 5
accounts, but just to keep it simple, let’s start
with 5)
2⃣ Turn on post notification so that you are
notified as soon as they post (optional)
3⃣ Leave a meaningful and genuine
comment on their post,
and/or
4⃣ Check the accounts of the other people
liking/commenting on their post
5⃣ Like and/or comment on their posts to get
their attention

219
Tip: Next month, you can select a different bunch of
5 accounts. This way, every month, you keep
exposing your account to different (yet similar)
audience.

Why do this?
The more people see you in the comments section
of other accounts, the more intrigued they will be.
And they will eventually check out your account
(especially if you leave meaningful and genuine
comments).

220
How many times a day should I do the
10 minute engagement trick?
If you’re new to all of this: start slow.
Remember: the goal is to be consistent, not burned
out.
So we recommend to do it once a day.
Once you get comfortable, and feel like you can do
more, you can do twice a day (like in the morning
and afternoon for example).

Does it have to be 10 minutes?

10 minutes is a good start.
It can be shorter or longer if you want to.
Just be careful not to like / comments on too many
accounts too fast. Instagram is very serious about
“bot” (“robot”) behavior. They could stop you from
liking and commenting if they notice a behaviour
that is out of the ordinary (way too many likes/
comments too fast).

221
Your checklist
Let’s recap everything we’ve talked about:

222
And now…

223
Remember
Remember
this
this

224
You’ve made it to the end of the Guide.

We really hope you’ve enjoyed the tips and that

you’re feeling excited to take control of your
Instagram account.

With that being said, here are things we hope you

will remember if you ever feel like you’re “stuck” or
“not growing”:

Instagram is an app. Not a torturing device.

Don’t put unnecessary pressure on yourself.

If you’re not having fun, take a step back.

Ask yourself:

“What would I post right now if I didn’t care about the

number of followers, number of likes, number of
comments?”

“Is stressing out over an Instagram post really worth

it?”

“Experimenting with my posts is fun.”

Growth takes time.

225
Remember your goal.

Quality over quantity.

It’s ok to take a break.

Imagine you’ve already reached your goal:

What is this person posting on Instagram? What is
this person writing in their caption? What is it person
sharing on Insta Stories? How is this person feeling?

Act like this person now.

226
