COURSE NUMBER AND DESCRIPTIVE TITLE: ENGLISH 3: TECHNICAL WRITING WITH ORAL
COMMUNICATION
COURSE CREDIT/UNITS & CONTACT HOURS/WEEK:4.4 UNITS/5 HOURS/WEEK

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course aims at providing students with the writing and reading skills, integrated
with essential grammatical activities for their successful undertaking of academic work. Strategies will be
learned to improve reading and writing skills and a variety of activities will be completed to improve
performance. Furthermore, this course will also engage students in different communication situations to
improve speaking skills.

Specific to Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BS HM)


The graduates of BS HM must have the ability to:
a. articulate and discuss the latest developments in the specific field of practice;
b. effectively communicate orally and in writing using English, Filipino, mother tongue language, and an
appropriate foreign language required by the industry;
c. work effectively and independently in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams;
d. act in recognition of professional, social and ethical responsibility; and
e. preserve and promote “Filipino historical and cultural heritage”.
