Honorable Representatives, from this day forward, the Philippines will be an independent country.

It will have
a fundamental Law, which will unite our people with other nations. I congratulate our beloved people, whom
from this date will be able to proclaim to the universe the universe the long-coveted name of Philippine
Republic.

We are no longer revolutionists, we are Republicans. There is nothing lacking, therefore in order for us to be
recognized and admitted as a free and independent nation.

Great is this day and this moment, let us rise to the celebration of independence. This 12 th of June, year 1898 is
our day and is for the Philippines!

Let us proudly sing and represent our own flag as our sign of independence.
