accessible to the potential out there in the space for individuals when the need emerges. Such a

Vision Statement
Apple Inc.’s corporate vision is “to make the best products on earth, and to leave the world
better than we found it.” Similarly, the company’s Vice President for Environment, Policy and
Social Initiatives, Lisa Jackson, stated, “We aim to create not just the best products in the world,
but the best products for the world.” Thus, the corporate vision statement aligns with Apple’s
corporate social responsibility strategy, and puts emphasis on sustainability, environmental
conservation, and overall improvement of the ecological impact of the business.

Mission Statement
Tesla’s mission statement was “to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable transport.”
However, in mid-2016, under Elon Musk’s leadership, the company changed the corporate
mission to “to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.” This new statement
indicates a slight but significant shift in the company’s business, to address market opportunities
for renewable energy. In a way, the new corporate mission recognizes the relevance of the firm’s
batteries and related energy storage products in markets in addition to the electric vehicle market.
