 Community Recipes
Community Recipes provides a list of publicly available recipes for users. It allows
users to search for recipes that use specific Applications/Connectors.

● Once a recipe has been set to public, it will be available in the Community
Recipes page and other users can copy/use the recipe.
● It serves as a “go to” page for users who want to use an existing recipe without
creating one from scratch.
● Users can also find “Featured Recipes” that are created by Workato.
● It is viewable even if you do not have an account with Workato.

located at the main navigation
of your Workato Account.

How to search for recipes?
● On the Community Recipes
page, select an App that you
want to search for recipes.
Clicking on an App and it will
display all public recipes that
are using it.

● It allows a user to search for
recipes that uses two or
more Apps.
● Using the search box, type
the Apps and it will display a
list of public recipes.

are tagged as good recipes to start with.

Create folders and subfolders

1. Select the parent folder that should

contain the new subfolder
2. Click on “Create new folder”
3. Type in the desired folder name and
press “Enter” on your keyboard

Drag and drop the folder into the desired

destination.

Rename custom folders

1. Click on the gear icon beside the

folder to be renamed
2. Click on “Rename”
3. Type in the desired folder name and
press “Enter”

Drag and drop the recipe into the desired

folder.

Deleting custom folders

1. Move all recipes out of the folder.

2. Click on the gear icon beside the
desired folder.
3. Click on the “Delete” option.

Creating a new recipe

1. Select the desired destination folder

2. Click on the “Create a new recipe” option in the upper right

Starting or stopping a recipe

Click on the ellipsis icon beside the recipe.

It will give an option to start or stop the recipe, depending on its current state.

Deleting a recipe

1. Click on the ellipses icon beside the recipe.

2. Stop the recipe.
3. Click on the “Delete recipe” option
4. Confirm the deletion by clicking on the “Delete” option

1. Click on the “Tools” drop-down on
the top bar
2. Select the desired tool or the “All
tools” option to access tools enabled
in your account and view other
available tools

Renaming the recipe

1. Click on the pencil icon on the right of the recipe title.

2. Type in the desired recipe name.
3. Click the check icon to save it.

Recipe URL

Each recipe has a unique, automatic ID. It is the first set of numbers in the recipe
URL.

Private recipes also have sharing tokens, to allow you to send a shareable link to
other users. It is the second set of numbers in the URL.

● Test a recipe to run a single trigger event through the recipe logic.
● Start a recipe to have it pick up trigger events.
● Stop a recipe to have it stop processing new trigger events.

Every time a recipe is saved, a version of the recipe is saved. Previous versions of a
recipe can be restored at any time.

The are 2 types of changes:

● Logic change - adding or removing steps and changing field mappings, will
create a new version of the recipe when the recipe is saved.
● Schema change - driven by Workato when it notices that the underlying
schema of objects in the recipe has changed. Such schema refreshes will auto
create a new version of the recipe.

 Recipe Subtabs: Restoring Versions
To restore previous versions of the recipe, switch to the Versions tab to view all
available versions. Recipe versions can be first previewed before being restored.

Public vs Private Recipes

● Public - Recipes that can be viewed by others in the Workato Community.

● Private - You have the option to keep your recipe private and they won't be
seen by others, unless you explicitly share it.

● Editing and adding recipe descriptions are useful to communicate recipe details
to other members in your team and so you can easily keep track of all your
recipes.

Navigate to your name and click on Account Settings.

Account Email
● Users can change their Workato
email. Please make sure that you
have activated your account for
settings to take effect.

Time zone
● This will be the default time zone
when date and time values in
recipes do not contain time zone
element.

Account Password
● To change your account
password, you will need to
provide your current
password.
● Users can also reset their
password by clicking on
“Forgot Password” on the
Workato login page.

● Account owner will receive notifications if a recipe encountered an error.
● User can add multiple emails who will also receive the error notification. Add multiple
emails using comma as separator. See sample email below.
