We often have the opportunity to speak in the wards
and at stake conferences. There are always choirs—
lots of music, lots of flowers, lots of love and lots of
spiritual strength.
A few weeks ago we attended the Tavararo Ward. The
good bishop, Roland Bopp, spoke about the blessings
of the temple and then challenged his ward members
to attend the temple faithfully. He reminded them of the
sacrifices their ancestors made to make the costly trip
to New Zealand in order to receive their endowments
and to be sealed as families.
He told the story of the widow’s mite and asked, “Do
we give our temple service as the rich man did—out of
our abundance, or as the widow did—in the spirit of
dedication and sacrifice.” It was a great lesson.
It’s impressive to see such seasoned priesthood
leaders, to realize that they are found in stakes, wards
and branches all over the world, and to know that the
Lord’s Kingdom moves steadily forward in power and
might. A young woman in Paea Stake presents the Moodys with a bouquet
