Ulan Summary
A girl stares curiously at the sky. The sun is shining, but rain is pouring. Her grandmother tells
her that the sky is weeping because two tikbalangs, supposedly oblivious to love, are getting
married. She heads out to a nearby park and actually witnesses the mythical creatures that are
cursed to be strangers to romance The same girl, now a lovely woman, excitedly heads out of
her house despite the pouring rain. She arrives at the house of the boy she has waited for years
to love. When the boy finally invites her in, he introduces her to his wife who is carrying their
baby. That rainy moment, she who has all the right in the world to love unlike the tikbalangs she
once witnessed in their moment of bliss, has her romantic dreams fall apart.
3 Take Away
When Maya as a kid, her grandmother would always tell her stories about the tikbalang and
other forms of superstitions related to rain
2Back then, Maya already had a wild imagination. Fast forward to 10-plus years later and
everyone keeps bugging grown-up Maya about having a boyfriend—her aunt and uncle, even
her boss.
3. But it seems she's always getting hurt, and her gay best friend Topi (Josef Elizalde) is a
witness to this. After one particular heartbreak, she vows that she will NEVER cry about "love"
again.
Moral Lesson
"I love how Ulan depicts the reality of falling hard for someone, hurting to the point of cursing
love, and never wanting to fall again...all but to find yourself trapped in the cycle once more
when you meet someone new. Nevertheless, it manages to teach a very important lesson in the
end.
Summary A Star Is Born
Talks of a remake of A Star Is Born began in 2011, with Clint Eastwood attached to direct and
Beyoncé set to star. The film was in development hell for several years with various actors
approached to co-star, including Christian Bale, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lopez, Will Smith,
and Tom Cruise. In March 2016, Cooper signed on to star and direct, and Lady Gaga joined the
cast in August 2016. Principal photography began at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts
Festival in April 2017
3 Take Away
1.as they share drinks at the bar, she runs her index finger down the spine of her nose, telling
him that music industry insiders had told her that her nose was too big, and she wasn’t pretty
enough to “make it” — that people wanted to hear her, but not look at her. Jack, a sensitive
soul, looking for something real to counterbalance the artifice and emptiness of celebrity,
replies: “I think you’re beautiful.”
2. During their first encounter, Ally is backstage among her drag sisters, who are in various
states of aestheticization, removing her wig and make-up. In a funny scene loaded with
symbolism and foreshadowing, Jack peels off her ridiculous fake eyebrows, as if to say: I want
to see who you really are. He says he’ll wait for her — as long as it takes — as she undergoes
the very time-consuming process of removing her multiple layers of cosmetics to see her
unmasked face.
3. she rallies for their right to be as plain and pared down as Jack prefers Ally, or as amplified
and accessorized as her manager likes. The trick to contentment for all of us, Lerner points out,
is to be able to “choose the self we want to be.”
Moral Lesson
A Star Is Born teaches us a vital lesson about mental health and addiction. It would be all too
easy to sum up the plot of A Star Is Born thus: Jackson (Bradley Cooper) cannot handle Ally
(Lady Gaga)'s rise to fame, and so turns to drinking as a coping mechanism

Summary Freedom
Writer is just starting her first teaching job, that as freshman and sophomore English teacher at
Woodrow Wilson High School, which, two years earlier, implemented a voluntary integration
program. For many of the existing teachers, the integration has ruined the school, whose
previously stellar academic standing has been replaced with many students who will be lucky to
graduate or even be literate. Despite choosing the school on purpose because of its integration
program, Erin is unprepared for the nature of her classroom, whose students live by generations
of strict moral codes of protecting their own at all cost. Many are in gangs and almost all know
somebody that has been killed by gang violence. The Latinos hate the Cambodians who hate
the blacks and so on. The only person the students hate more is Ms. Gruwell. It isn't until Erin
holds an unsanctioned discussion about a recent drive-by shooting death that she fully begins to
understand what she's up against. And it isn't until she provides an assignment of writing a daily
journal - which will be not graded, and will remain unread by her unless they so choose - that
the students begin to open up to her. As Erin tries harder and harder to have resources
provided to teach properly (which often results in her needing to pay for them herself through
working second and third jobs), she seems to face greater resistance, especially from her
colleagues, such as Margaret Campbell, her section head, who lives by regulations and sees
such resources as a waste, and Brian Gelford, who will protect his "priviledged" position of
teaching the senior honors classes at all cost. Erin also finds that her teaching job is placing a
strain on her marriage to Scott Casey, a man who seems to have lost his own idealistic way in
life.
3take away
1. The scenario of the school clearly manifest how environment affects students learning.
Majority of the students suffer from the issues regarding racism and cultural diversity which sets
them apart and made them involved in serious gang wars.
2. Students are motivated from what surrounds them. When the learning environment is full of
negative elements, students will loose their focus and will stop them from achieving their goals.
3. he changed himself in order to show his mother that he was not going to disappointing her
anymore.
Moral Value
Moral values that I have learned in the Freedom Writers movie is if you try your best, you can
achieve what you are aiming for. It is different because it is real. Erin Gruwell teaches them to
be real, to be honest, and to be themselves. From the movie, one learns that she started her
effort to reach out to the students, including working a second job, when she was still a student
teacher.
Shazam Summary
In Philadelphia, Billy Batson is an abandoned child who is proving a nuisance to Child Services
and the authorities with his stubborn search for his lost mother. However, in his latest foster
home, Billy makes a new friend, Freddy, and finds himself selected by the Wizard Shazam to be
his new champion. Now endowed with the ability to instantly become an adult superhero by
speaking the wizard's name, Billy gleefully explores his new powers with Freddy. However, Billy
soon learns that he has a deadly enemy, Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, who was previously rejected by
the wizard and has accepted the power of the Seven Deadly Sins instead. Now pursued by this
mad scientist for his own power as well, Billy must face up to the responsibilities of his calling
while learning the power of a special magic with his true family that Sivana can never
understand.
3 Take Away
1. Freddy is handicapable, and outside of one crutch, there isn’t anything else that is different
about him. Yet, he eats alone, is bullied, and no one, even when kicked in front of the whole
school does anything.
2. , and I have to mention Darla. With her being so young, and probably adopted, or taken care
of, by Rosa and Victor for a long time, she sees each new person as her brother and sister.
3. 14-year-old Billy has spent most of his life in search of his mom, and since losing her, he has
been to over 23 foster homes. Mind you, there is no mention of abuse or reason for him to run,
but he leaves anyway thinking his mom is searching for her and by him also looking, he hopes
they’ll reunite
Moral Lesson
Whether it’s friends or family, you have to show them that you care via your actions. By you
working to be successful and still making time to spend with them, you gain more value in your
life and it shows them that you care.

Summary THE DARKEST MIND
There is a strange disease that is taking lives of ten year old children. Soon, most of the kids
are gone and those who are left are discovered to have special powers and are taken into
camps for testing. Ruby is one of those children and she gets taken to a camp Thurmond. Upon
arriving, the children are tested to determine what category they belong to: green, blue, yellow,
orange, or red. On this scale blue children are the most harmless and red are most dangerous.
Ruby manages to convince the doctor that she is green when in fact she is an orange. Life at
Thurmond for these children is grim, since they are treated as less than human. Ruby's power
includes manipulating, mind controlling other people, and seeing their thoughts; she accidentally
wipes out the memory of her only friend at camp. The Thurmond eventually becomes a place for
greens and blues only and it is believed that the rest are executed. The camp controllers find a
way to bring the rest of reds, yellows and oranges out of hiding by using something called a
White Noise. On one of the occasions where they use this Ruby is under suspicion of being an
orange and one of the doctors at Thurmond, a woman called Cate, decides to break her out with
one of the other kids, a boy called Martin. Out of Thurmond, Cate reveals to Ruby that she is a
part of Children's League-an organization that works on freeing these kids. Ruby soon finds out
Cate's and League's ulterior motive which is using the children for their own gains and power.
Ruby escapes and finds herself in the company of three other refugee kids: Liam, Chubs and
Zu. They decide to go to East River in search of another remaining orange, a boy that is feared
even by PSF's, and going by the nickname of Slip Kid. The trio eventually finds themselves in a
camp of other oranges, but soon discover their dark nature and decide to escape. Then they
come upon a father of one of Liam's friends. The guy shoots Chubs and Ruby has no other
option but to call upon the Children's League with the device she left in her backpack just in
case. Ruby makes a deal with Cate to be a part of their League in exchange of letting Liam go
home. Cate accepts and Ruby wipes the memory of her from Liam's mind. Ruby knows what
the League will do to her and in what monster they will try to shape her to be but she is
confident that she will also be able to keep her human part.

MORAL LESSON
Deadpool is the unique blend of immortality and (god) complex personality. At surface level, he
seems pretty normal But there’s a little more to the Merc with a Mouth once we dig around. It’s
not just his inability to die that attracts us: he’s forever alive thanks to his cancerous mutation.
