(1) New Features List
1-1 Support of New Models
- The setting to generate a touch sound is added when a touch is made while
an interlock is activated.
- The function with which delay time of the switch can be specified
with a value of the address is added.
- The function to change the state with the word value is added in Lamp.
- The setting using the "msec" unit is added to the delay time in Switch.
- The "Large" button is added for "System keyboard size".
- The function with which Delay (Elapsed Time) can be checked is added
in Switch.
- The system keypad can be displayed from Data Display on the window.
- The system variable to be used for checking whether historical trend graph
is displaying the history data is added.
- "Display Order" is added in Sampling Data Display.
- The function which creates an index file of the backup data (bin file)
in sampling data in offline mode is added.
- Two or more RPA Window Displays can be placed on one screen.
- The function with which security settings can be edited in online mode

- The function supported in GP-4000 series can be used in GP-4201TM and
GP-4301TM.
<Improvement in Editor Function>
- When Animation is used, icons are displayed in Screen List's workspace and
Screen Data List's workspace.
- A mechanism in which font information on the parts using the text table
can be changed all at once is added.
- "Display cross-hair cursor" can be set using the screen editor.
- Comparison Tool is renovated so that parts attributes can be compared.
- The icon indicating Screen Capture is always displayed on the toolbar to
make it easier to perform a screen capture in Preview.
- Address color and part's ID to be displayed on the parts arranged on
the edit screen can be changed.
- Alarm parts settings whose frequency in attribute change is high
are displayed in Basic Setting.
- A link button is added so that a keypad screen can be easily edited from
Data Display.
- Basic/Detail of the parts can be switched in Properties.
- The icon is displayed in a complement list to be displayed when an address
is set.
- When the setting registered in the text table is selected,
search refinement can be performed using an index number.
- The registration button is added in the Switch/Lamp setting dialog so that
text can be easily registered in the text table.
- When parts are arranged with "Snap to Grid" selected, the snap point can
be changed.
- "Text Table" can be selected for "Search Type" in the Search window.
- Alarm is added for the search object when "Text Table" is selected for
"Search Type" in the search option of the Search window.
- Text table can be registered from Alarm.
- Delimiter settings can be made when importing/exporting a CSV file and
a TXT file.
- The setting to disable the size change is added when a cursor touches
the part while the part's position is changed using the keypad.
- In the Switch/Lamp Settings dialog, the layout of the Label tab becomes
easier to see.
- When call screen parts are selected, a center point is displayed.
- "Input Mode" is added in Address View of Simulation so that "Compatible
Character Codes" and "Direct Text" can be switched.
- When search is performed with the online monitor, the center of the logic
screen is focused.
<Others>
- EXE which can change a project created with V3.10 to the project of
V3.00 is created.
- LT series can be changed to other series.
- When "Mute" is set for the volume of a PC, the beep does not sound
at the time of starting WinGP/Simulation.

(2) Limitations
2-1 Display Unit
(Runtime)
<USB Device>
- When a USB device is inserted/removed, all USB devices may not become
disabled under the condition that five or more USB devices are connected
at the same time using the USB HUB in GP-4000 series.
If this phenomenon occurs, reset the Display.
<Data Display>
- When two or more Data Displays with "Indirect" specified are made to be
invisible at the same time while displaying a pop-up keypad, some Data
Display may not be invisible.
<RPA>
- A keypad is closed while the [Alt] key on the keypad of the RPA
Window Display is held down. When the keypad is opened next time,
the [Alt] key remains held down.
<Security>
- When "Portrait" is specified for the installation direction for Display,
some spelling mistakes are found in the Password/User ID Input window.
<USB/SIO>
- Do not use a logic program during communication with a Device/PLC using
a USB/SIO (RS422/485).
If the logic program is used in the situation, a communication error
may occur.

<Fuji Electric FA Components & Systems Co., Ltd. MICREX-SX Series SIO>
- Do not use "Indirect" setting for the String type. If it is specified,
data may not be displayed normally.
- When STRING variables are displayed in Device Monitor of Pro-Server EX,
only two characters are displayed.
<GE Fanuc Automation Series 90-30/70 SNP>
- Some spelling mistakes are found in English error messages.
<GE Fanuc Automation Series 90-30/70 SNP-X>
- If an error occurs during communication, set "1" or larger value
for Retry Count.
<Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd MHI STEP3 Ethernet>
- When a bit device is specified in Alarm Summary, alarms of 17th bit or
later are not displayed normally. If this phenomenon occurs, use the word
device.
<Mitsubishi Electric Corporation FREQROL Inverter>
- When the link parameter device is read, the communication cycle time
becomes an illegal value.
<Mitsubishi Electric Corporation Q series CPU Direct Connection>
- In a screen where a Display Unit does not communicate with a PLC:
When an access is made to the PLC using the pass-through function
after the PLC is restarted, the password lock occurs to the PLC.
Make connections using the pass-through function after the screen is
shifted to the one where the Display Unit communicates with the PLC.
- Do not write the data including the bit address with the extended recipe
function. If such writing is made, a communication error may occur.
<ODVA DeviceNet Slave>
- Do not input 32 or more characters for the device address in Address Input
of Device Monitor.
- Tag information allocated to I/O units may not be imported normally.
If this phenomenon occurs, edit the data with the Editor manually.
<Pass-through Function>
- The pass-though function cannot be used when WinGP and IIS FTP servers are
used at the same time.
(3) When Serial No. and License Key Code are not input
- Project data cannot be transferred to the operation panels
(except for GP4100 series, IPCs and PC-ATs (Used WinGP)).
- Transfer using the Transfer Tool is not available for WinGP. However, using
ProjectCopy, you can copy screen data and get it to work.
To use ProjectCopy, click [Start]-[All Programs]-[Pro-face]-[WinGP]-
[ProjectCopy] on the Windows desktop screen.
However, note that ProjectCopy cannot be used in the following cases:
- When system data has not been transferred
- When system data has been changed
WinGP automatically stops after three hours of continuous operation.
* It is possible to input the serial No. and the license key code after
installation of the software. Start the product and go to [Help]-[Enter
Key Code].
(4) Installation and Uninstallation
4-1 Installation
- Be sure to quit all application programs and close (disable) all resident
programs such as virus detection software before installing the software.
- Install this software using a user account with Administrator privileges.
- Refer to our support site "Otasuke Pro!" (http://www.proface.com/otasuke/)
for the operating environment.
- By inserting a disk into the DVD drive, Setup window will appear.
If the Setup window does not appear, click the desktop's [Start] button
and then click [Run]. In the text input field, enter [D:\ProEX_Setup.exe]
and click [OK].
(As for the "D:\" part, enter your DVD drive name.)
* Some of the tools require a license.
In cases below, USB transfer cables may not be recognized correctly:
- When you installed the software with a USB transfer cable connected
- When you started using the software without restarting your computer
4-2 Uninstallation
To uninstall the software, click on [Start], then select [All Programs]-
[Pro-face]-[***], and execute [Uninstall]. ("***" represents the product
name and version.) Project files and files in your package files will not be
removed by this operation. Delete other tools from [Start]-[Control Panel]-
[Add or Remove Programs].
(5) User Registration
Please register your software to help us offer enhanced customer support.
Since you can confirm the registered information at anytime once you
register, you do not have to worry even if you lose it. To register, insert
a DVD into the DVD drive, select the User Registration menu in the Set Up
Menu screen and complete the online Software User Registration. You can also
register after installation by starting the product and registering from
[Help]-[Online User Registration].
(6) Manuals
To view PDF manuals, the Adobe Reader software must be installed on your
computer. Start the product and select [Manual] from the [Help(H)] menu.
To view only the manuals, select [Start]-[All Programs]-[Pro-face]-[***]
-[Manual].("***" represents the product name and version.)
Some manuals need to be downloaded from our support site "Otasuke Pro!".
(7) Fixed Defects
7-1 Editor
(Editor)
<Function>
- Some key labels are shifted and displayed among keypad parts registered in
the package.
- When a project is opened, the standard font may be displayed
in a different size from a preset size.
- When Prx is converted, the plate color of Message Display may be set
to "Transparent".
<Transfer>
- System Keypad becomes small in memory loader backup data of GP-3310T.
<Alarm>
- When the display language is different between OS and the screen editor,
a part of the alarm part settings may not be displayed normally.
- In the Switch setting of the Alarm part, the label of "Clear All" may not
be changed.
<Text Table>
- When a table having no language information exists in a CSV file to be
imported with Text Table, a project cannot be opened normally after the
import.
<Switch/Lamp>
- When a specific operation is made in the "Add Text" dialog
under the condition that "Text Table" is selected in the Label setting,
abnormal termination may occur.
- When "Copy Part Shape" and "Paste Part Shape" are executed, the Color item
in the part settings may disappear.
<Special Display>
- When a language of the European language package is selected,
the input area of Default Path of the Extended tab in File Manager cannot
be selected by clicking.
<Enhanced Recipe>
- When "German" is selected in the language setting of the screen editor,
the words and phrases in "Enhanced Recipe" are not uniform.
<Transfer Tool>
- Recipe files (CSV file) cannot be compared with the Compare Project
function.
- When a screen data (MEM file) which is image-font-registered is converted
in a project (PRX file), the project data may not be opened normally.
<Script>
- When specific operation is made in the edit screen of Script,
the screen editor may be terminated abnormally.
- When a project including the script where an address (in which a data type
is individually specified) is described is opened with the screen editor
of V3.00 or later, the address may be converted in an illegal address.
- The "Undo" operation may not be operated normally.
- The alarm message displayed when a value exceeds the 32-bit range of the
value is incorrect. Instead of the correct one, the alarm message
displayed when a value exceeds the 16-bit range is displayed.
<Data Display>
- When the installation direction of the Display is changed,
the arrangement location specification of the keypad may be shifted.
<Memory Loader>
- Backup data created from a project where the font whose size exceeds
the font area is used cannot be downloaded normally.
<Operation Log>
- When "English" is specified in the language setting of the screen editor,
"Sec" is not displayed in "Time" of "CSV Format."
("Operating Log => Settings"CSV Format")
7-2 Display Unit
(Runtime)
<FEP>
- When one window is cancelled while an FEP input window is displayed,
the FEP input window is closed as well. In addition, when "SD/USB Removal"
is enabled, the FEP input window may be closed in a few seconds.
<Alarm>
- When scanning is stopped using LS9550 (Communication ON/OFF control)
under the condition that "Extended" is selected for "Alarm Type", an alarm
for which the trigger conditions are not met may be generated.
<Image Registration>
- When "Monochrome" is specified in the conversion processing at the time of
registering image files, the converted image may not be displayed normally.
<Offline>
- Hung-up may occur when the System Area setting is selected in offline mode
for the following project:
- In the project, a system area start address is specified on an address
input keypad where "Indirect" is specified for "Address Mode."
- For GP-4000 series (Except for GP-4201TW, GP-4301TW, GP-4401WW, and
GP-4501TW) and WinGP:
When SRAM backup data in the SD card is transferred to the Display,
the internal device backup data may not be updated.
- For GP-4201TW, GP-4301TW, and GP-4501TW:
SRAM backup data in the SD card cannot be transferred to the backup memory
(SRAM) of the Display.
- When printer settings are changed, the changed settings are not saved
normally.
<Screen Capture>
- The file number of the JPEG capture may not be increased
when opening/closing the CF card hatch in GP3000 series.
<Simulation>
- When there are a lot of data numbers in the recipe settings,
the simulation function does not start in rare cases.
<Script>
- A file copy function _ FileCopy of Extended Script in GP4000 series does
not read a CF of the root folder as an SD.
<Data Display>
- For some display types in which the upper limit of the parts for one
screen is 1024:
When 385 or more Data Displays whose input is permitted exist,
input is disabled from Data Display.
<Drawing>
- When Screen Change is executed in WinGP or Simulation,
a drawing of the previous screen may remain in rare cases.
<Function Key>
- The bit allocated to the switch does not turn OFF when Device/PLC is
changed (Indirect Device) and transition to an offline mode with holding
down the global function key under the condition that the global function
key is specified and the bit momentary switch is allocated.
<Memory Loader>
- When a screen is scrolled on the Memory Loader's "Select File" screen or
"File List" screen, the folder cannot be moved to a lower folder.
<Monochrome>
- When a monochrome 16-level 3-speed blink is used in GP4000 series,
a 1-line error, FEP, and detailed error window may be reverse-displayed.
<Logic Monitor>
- When a logic monitor is scrolled in AGP-3750, a straight line of a few
dots may remain as they are, instead of disappearing.
<FlexNetwork>
- When the power of the I/O module is turned OFF/ON, communication may not
be restored.
7-3 Device/PLC
<Azbil Corporation Controller (CPL)>
- When a controller is specified in Pro-Server EX,
a part of the Reference To Parameter dialog may be hidden.
- The Reference To Parameter dialog is not displayed normally when "120
DPI" is specified for DPI.
- Communication performance has been improved by eliminating useless idle
time in the communication with Device/PLC.
<Cognex Corporation In-Sight Vision System>
- For GP-4000 series (except for GP-4100 series, GP-4201TM, and GP-4301TM):
LIVE image may not be restarted after it is stopped.
<Digital Electronics Corporation General Purpose Ethernet>
- The error message and error status are not displayed normally
when a communication error occurs.
- Incorrect error codes are set in "Sending Result" in some errors.
<Fuji Electric Co., Ltd. MICREX-SX Series SIO>
- When variable data is newly created, the data may be created with the
existing variable data name.
- When the task type is "FIXED_CYCLE" only, a communication error occurs and
communication is disabled.
- In ProServerEX, display and operation may be illegal
in the node's Device/PLC settings.
- Although Read/Write is executed to 32-bit variables,
Read/Write is performed for every 16-bit.
<IAI Corporation ROBO CYLINDER MODBUS SIO>
- When a lot of discontinuous addresses are used, a communication error may
occur.
<LSIS Co., Ltd. MASTER-K Series Cnet>
- When a lot of discontinuous addresses are used, a communication error may
occur.
<Mitsubishi Electric Corporation FX Series CPU Direct Connection>
- When the communication type settings for GP4201T and GP4301TM are
different from those of the connected devices and further the time
synchronization setting is specified, the screen may be locked
during the startup.
<OMRON Corporation CS/CJ/NJ Series EtherNet/IP>
- When the Byte array of the NJ series is used at random, a correct value
may not be displayed.
- When 83 or more variables of a short character string are continuously
registered in the NJ series, an error occurs when communication is started
and communication cannot be started normally.
- When a lot of variables of a long character string are continuously
registered in the CJ2 series, an error occurs when communication is
started and communication cannot be started normally.
(Example)
39 or more variables with 48 characters are continuously registered.
<Rockwell Automation EtherNet/IP>
- Array Tag cannot be specified normally.
- For saving a tag list as a file with the export function:
When a file name with read-only properties is specified for a file name,
abnormal termination occurs.
- A Japanese error message when Ethernet/IP L5K import is executed is not
correct.
- When L5K is imported, an error occurs to a tag which should have been
imported normally and one character is missing for the data type of the
error log to be output.
<Schneider Electric SA MODBUS Slave>
- When a REST packet is transmitted from a partner device
during TCP communication, an internal memory may be accessed illegally.
<SHINKO TECHNOS CO., LTD Temperature Controller SIO>
- Communication performance has been improved by eliminating useless idle
time in the communication with Device/PLC.
<Siemens AG SIMATIC S7 Ethernet>
- The out-of-range check before transmitting a command in the continuous bit
address access is not correctly made.
<Siemens AG SIMATIC S7 MPI Direct Connection>
- A communication error occurs when the tag (Array Element Number: 213 or
more, Text format) is accessed.
- When screen data including a text format tag which is created with
GP-ProEX V3.00 is displayed, the screen may be locked.
- When 8 or more tag data is created in the tag list selection screen,
specification of the 9th or later tag file causes an error.
- When 110 points or more continuous timer/counter type tags are read,
the 110 or later data is not read normally.
- When the timer/counter type tag is specified in S7-200 series, a correct
value is not read.
- Performance when the timer/counter type tag is specified in S7-200 series
is improved.
- RHAA101 or RHAA049 error occurs when project data in which 16 files or
more tag data is created is used to make communications.
- 110 points or more tags including the Date_and_time type tag are read
continuously, the value may not be read correctly.
- When an array format tag of the 2-word data is 110th word in continuous
reading of the array format tag, the correct value cannot be read.
- When a TOD-type tag is specified for the start condition detailed settings
in Pro-Server EX, a correct operation is not performed.
<Siemens Building Technologies SAPHIR SIO>
- When one data point is deleted in the case two data points can be
registered doubly, an application error occurs in GP-Pro EX.
<TOSHIBA MACHINE CO., LTD. TC series (TCmini/TC200)>
- When you try to make a communication using GP3000 series COM1 (2-wire),
a cable disconnection error occurs, which disables communication.
<YASKAWA ELECTRIC CORPORATION High-speed Ethernet Server>
- When robot information is backed up all at once in GP4000 series,
the 2nd backup is not performed normally.
- Port settings in Individual Device Settings are not correctly reflected.
- When a class is specified in Address Input dialog, other setting ranges are
not set normally.
- File Read <job program> does not operate normally in Handy GP.
- When a file read class (0x4C0) is used and a file is created in the root
folder of the SD card in GP4000 series, the file is not overwritten with
the same file name and the error occurs.
<Device Monitor Function>
- The Device/PLC name on the title bar is not displayed normally when it is
long.
- When you try to start the Device Monitor function at high-speed
continuously, the Display may be locked or the Device Monitor function may
not start normally.
<Pass-through>
- Communication may not start when GP is started.
7-4 WinGP
<Function>
- The resolution of the desktop may not be returned to the original one
when WinGP is terminated after WinGP is used in the full-screen mode with
Windows7.
- When "Screen Display" of the not-supported System Area is turned OFF
in WinGP, the setting of "Faded Color Blink" may be changed to "Black" from
"Faded Color". In this case, touch input may be disabled.
