Interface & Toolkit Orientation—VectorWorks 8.5 to VectorWorks 9

Introduction
VectorWorks 9 makes extensive use of the Object Browser, first introduced in VectorWorks 8.5,
as a means to deploy objects and symbols from a single, easy-to-browse source that delivers
literally thousands of objects at your fingertips. The Object Browser also allows pre-sizing and
pre-styling of objects for greater user convenience, as well as an icon-sized preview.
Many plug-in objects that were available in tool palettes in VectorWorks 8.0 and 8.5 are now
delivered in the more convenient Object Browser library form. Please refer to your User
Manual, page 11-43 for more information on using the Object Browser.

Toolkit Libraries
The following library files incorporate content found in the former Toolkit libraries along with
new objects and symbols. They are installed automatically as part of the VectorWorks
installation process and show up in the File List popup at the top of the Object Browser:
