I. Title of the Project :
Establishment of Greenhouse in School Site for Quality Seedling
Production
II. Project Background and Rationale
The Gulayan sa Paaralan Project shall be implemented in all public
elementary and secondary schools. In pursuant to DepEd Memorandum
No.223 s.2016, entitled “Strengthening the Implementation of the GULAYAN
SA PAARALAN PROGRAM ( GPP ) in Public Elementary and Secondary
Schools Nationwide, to address Malnutrition, and to promote vegetable
production and consumption among school children.
This Memorandum is issued to sustain school gardens, not only to
attain 63% sustainable garden at present, but also to establish gardens in all
schools nationwide. The GPP was issued and implemented through DepEd
Memorandum No. 293, s. 2007 entitled Gulayan sa Paaralan. This program is
an activity which aim to promote proper nutrition and mitigate hunger among
learners. Eating right number of fruits and vegetables will help develop the
body and mind of the students, that is why all schools are encouraged to have
this kind of program.
In response to the aforementioned Gulayan sa Paaralan Memorandum,
Conde Labac Integrated School is one of the public schools who inspired to
continue implementing the said program of DepEd. We have IS-DILIG Project
under Gulayan sa Paaralan, it was implemented in the midway of previous

Academic Year 2020-2021. And this coming school year the TLE/TVL group
of teachers would like to propose the PROJECT PUNLA – PURPOSIVE &
USEFUL NURSERY HOUSE FOR LONG LASTING CROPS
ACCOMMODATION.
Project PUNLA is a project intended to construct a systematic and
purposive place to produce healthy seedlings that would sustain the Gulayan
sa Paaralan program of Conde Labac integrated School and also to provide a
long-term solution for the crops that usually washed away by flood during the
heavy rain falls. From the fact that our school site got flooded in time of rainy
season, a greenhouse that would cater the seedlings is very much necessary.
Thru this project, the natural environment such as temperature, humidity, light
and other related factors are modified for optimum plant growth. Cropping
technique would also control partially as the requirement of plant species
grown during their period of growth.
III. Objectives
To continue sustaining and maintaining the IS-DILIG project starting
the midway of previous Academic Year 2020-2021. We are proposing
another project for Academic Year 2021-2022, which can support to continue
the IS-DILIG Project. We can call it Project PUNLA – Purposive & Useful
Nursery house for Long lasting crops Accommodation to provide a
place for a plant nursery to produce a healthy seedling, thus improve and
increase vegetable production. It also aims to establish school gardens to

serve as main source of food sustain for supplementary feeding program.
And it also aims to supply vegetable needs of the community.
IV. Expected Output
By the end of September 2021, the output expected of Project
PUNLA – Purposive & Useful Nursery house for Long lasting crops
Accommodation should be visible and functional. The main advantage of
this project is to help and encourage teacher, parent, students and LGU to
support the project. This project has a unique design and it is a strong
structured output.

VIII. Impact/Result
The implication of this Establishment of Greenhouse in School Site
for Quality Seedling Production, is to provide an innovation project for
Gulayan sa Paaralan. The result of this innovation is the Project PUNLA –
PURPOSIVE & USEFUL NURSERY HOUSE FOR LONG LASTING
CROPS ACCOMMODATION to have a place for the nursery of the
seedlings, to provide a healthy plants to produce a healthy vegetables and
fruit bearings.
