GUIDELINES FOR CASE ASSIGNMENTS
The most important thing to remember when organizing the format of a case analysis is that the format should be reader-friendly because in
business writing there are many different types of audiences involved. A typical case analysis includes a brief introduction, clear paragraphs,
comprehensive topic sentences and good transitions. Subheadings may be used to clarify breaks between sections.

5 external sources (in addition to the case) should be
referenced to support your discussion. This
information would be ideally sourced on the web, in
current journals, magazines and newspapers and
should reflect current management thought or
practice with respect to the issues identified.
V. Spelling Grammar and Presentation Your case analysis should :
Include the sections listed in the outline
Be double spaced and the pages should be
numbered
Have 1inch margins – top bottom left and right
Use 12 point font size
Be free of spelling errors
Use an established referencing system
Use an accepted format for your cover page.
Include a page with the Group name as well as
the names of the members, student ID number(s
and due date
Include a Table of contents using the correct
pagination format
INFORMATIVE BUSINESS PRESENTATION
1. Each team will DEVELOP/CRAFT/CHOREOGRAPH a presentation based on the written analysis. This means that your presentation should not
slavishly follow the outline given.
2. Individual contribution to the Project will be assessed. Therefore, while the appearance of Team effort must be observed and displayed, the Project (written plan
and oral presentation) must be so structured that individual contribution is discernable and measurable.
3. Presentations are scheduled in Tutorials during the week of April 4 – 9, 2011. The written documents are due on the day of the
presentations. Late submissions will automatically be given a lower grade.
