ABSTRACT
Davis, J., Putong, SB., Dimabayao, P., Peralta, MJ., & Han Juyeon. (2021). Role
of Motivation in an Online Learning Class among selected students.
This study examined the factors that affect students’ learning motivation in
an online class of Third Year Education students of José Rizal University. Using
descriptive – causal study, the variables included in question number one, in
particular, the scale variable like socio-economic status, and personality is meant
to be tested for association on question number three.
The study revealed a non-significant association in the variable motivation
of learning. It has also proven that socio-economic status has a significant
association to the learning motivation of respondents.
The Chi-square test results revealed a non – significant association if
respondents are grouped according to personality vis-a-vis students’ motivation.
This means that whether the students are introvert or extrovert, their personality
has nothing to do with students’ motivation in online learning. However, there is a
significant association if respondents are grouped according to socio-economic
status vis-a-vis students’ motivation. This means that students’ learning
motivation in an online learning is affected by their socio-economic status.
From the data collected, the research was able to create an action plan in
the form of a strategy map that may help the students and the teachers and
future researchers to be able to address the student’s motivation in online class.
