Study Guide
B.
1. Explain why teaching is both familiar and intriguing.
Students are inspired by teachers who are passionate about what they do. They pique students' interest
in what they're learning and perhaps get them enthused about it. Students' desire to learn more is fueled
by their passion. The reality is that many teachers will be obliged to teach subjects that are not their
strong suits.
2. Distinguish teaching as a science from teaching as an art. Why are these related?
It's a science in the sense that there are tactics and practices that have been proven to improve learning
in a body of study. Teachers, like scientists, test new tactics or strategies to see how well they perform.
It's an art form. It is an art form in which teachers must immerse themselves completely in their subject
matter.
3. In what way is teaching different educational information – giving?
Teaching is defined as the act of imparting knowledge about a subject to a group of people. Learning is
the process of gaining knowledge through study, instruction, and experience. Teachers can't teach
without students, but students can't learn without teachers.
4. Interview a teacher get her views about.
5. Prepare a five-minute talk on the role of instruction in the educative process.
6. What are the three kind of instructional media?
Print Pamphlets, handouts, study guides, manuals
Visual Charts, real objects, photographs, transparencies
Audiovisual Slides, tapes, films, filmstrips, television, video, multimedia
Static/display Chalkboard, felt board, display easels, flip charts, cloth board, magnetic board
Electronic Radio computers, electronic mail, CD-ROM, multimedia
7. In your opinion of what importance to the teacher is knowledge and understanding of the teaching-
learning sequence.
At any level, teachers' conceptual understanding and knowledge are vital.... They get the ability to detect
chances for taking pupils' understandings forward. Teachers engage in effective practice when they use
their knowledge to improve student learning.
8. Differentiate hardware from software
Software is a collection of codes loaded on your computer's hard disk, whereas computer hardware is
any actual component utilized in or with your system. To create and store documents, word processing
software makes use of the computer's processor, memory, and hard drive. Hardware is what allows a
computer to function.
9. Explain the two ways of viewing mastery learning.
To progress in mastery learning, students must achieve a certain level defined by their instructor. If a
student fails to grasp the content on the first try, they are provided more help in learning and reviewing
the material before being tested again.
10. Clarify the various steps in Bloom’s mastery teaching.
Bloom was born in the year 1968. Mastery Learning is predicated on the concept that pupils must master
necessary material (i.e., score 90 percent on a knowledge test) before moving on to study succeeding
information. Before moving on to new subject, students must demonstrate proficiency on unit tests,
which are normally 80 percent.

Questions to Consider
1. Why is it important for teachers to be willing to face themselves? How can this be accomplished
at the preservice level?
Self-care is important and beneficial to people in all professions, yet it is stigmatized more in some than
others. It is generally easier for those in caregiving professions, such as teachers, to tell others to take
care of their health than it is for them to do so themselves. [7] Self-care is essential for teachers to
maintain excellent mental health because they are expected to expend so much energy on others and so
little on themselves.
2. To what extent do teachers make a difference in student achievement?
Teachers have a greater impact on student accomplishment than any other part of education. Teachers
are predicted to have two to three times the effect on student achievement on reading and math tests
than any other school aspect, including services, buildings, and even leadership. Classroom
management, teaching for learning, home and parent participation, and thinking that all children can
learn are the top four elements that determine student accomplishment, according to research. The
second factor is to make sure that teachers understand how to use research-based instructional
practices.
3. How would you improve academic instructional time and academic engaged time as a teacher?
Both teachers use a variety of strategies to help their students succeed, including encouraging positive
self-concepts in their students (e.g., by telling them that they can improve their performance by working
hard), providing students with a variety of strategies for completing academic tasks, and providing clear.
4. What teaching methods and approaches can be used to improve students’ thinking skill?
Use analogies.
Promote interaction among students.
Ask open-ended questions.
Allow reflection time.
Use real-life problems.
Allow for thinking practice.
5. What are the attributes of critical thinking and of creative thinking?
Students think critically and creatively in all learning areas at school and in their lives beyond school,
employing abilities, behaviors, and dispositions such as reason, logic, resourcefulness, imagination, and
innovation.
