eSIM consumer market reach

Upcoming eSIM uptake
Subscription downloads on eSIM compliant devices will soon become massive
• As new eSIM devices become available on the market
• As MNOs and OEMs educate the end-users on eSIM features, benefits and user experience.
• As the Global chip shortage impacts physical SIM cards availability from manufacturers.
• New connectivity plans , new use cases, for travel & roaming, dual & parent subscriptions, etc..

Migration to a smart Subscription Management service becomes relevant:

• To integrate such service into a richer user experience,, new customers on-boarding, eKYC, secured in-app user
interface, etc…)
• To collect and monitor information about end-users

Benefits for the MNO:

• Continuity of service – ease of implementation

The Huawei P40 and P40+ are the first cell phones from the Chinese manufacturer to support eSIM. Huawei is the first Chinese
manufacturer to produce eSIM phones, so we expect many of their competitors to launch them in their high range as well.

The Huawei P40 Pro+ is not compatible, apparently because of limitations imposed by its ceramic casing.
Huawei models only allow you to install one eSIM at a time and does not allow you to use two SIMs at the same time.

7
eSIM phones Availability Impact
New customer acquisition model: existing customers will purchase their eSIM-ready devices
wherever they want and load / add an eSIM seamlessly in their phones – one or multiple eSIM’s

Easier Onboarding: Ultimately they would not need to visit an outlet to select their connectivity plan,
as it will directly be available from the device if a Local Profile Assistant (personalized menu) is being
used.

Larger Volumes: As eSIM compliant devices gain market share, the number of subscription
download requests are expected to increase significantly.
