Conclusion
The result of the study revealed that the Impact of Lack of Sleep on the
Academic Performance of the Grade 12 General Academic Strand Students of
Father Saturnino Urios College of Bayugan Incorporated is not effective with
the p-value of .144 because from the significance of the statistical analysis
ascertains at 0.05 alpha level which signifies that when the p>0.05 or equal it
means significant but if the p<0.05 it means not significant. Thus, the Impact
of Lack of Sleep on the Academic Performance of the Grade 12 General
Academic Strand Students are not effective
Recommendation
Based on the findings on the conclusion the following are highly recommend to
future researcher:
1. For further research, since many of the past research articles that were
discussed previously stated that not are the number of hours of sleep
important to the level of functioning, but also the quality of sleep, it would be
interesting to tie this factor into another study.
2. For curiosity the researcher as ked sample question on the survey and found
that the majority of students have fought to stay awake in class, felt tired in
class, had a hard time in falling asleep, had difficulty paying attention in class,
and did not wake up feeling well rested in the morning.
3. this information, although not done so by researcher, would be interesting to
test in order to see if this low quality of sleep experienced also had a significant
effect on their academic performance.
4.Further research could also be done to determine whether or not marital
status or other obligations outside of the school setting had an impact upon
their academic performance.
5. Another suggestion for further research includes conducting longitudinal
study following a set of students over a specified time period, beginning as a
freshman in college and determining whether or not their sleep levels have any
long term effects on their academic performance in other areas of their lives.
