This chapter describes the test development features specific to the i3070
Series 5i Lean inline systems.
Specifying the Target System
Test development using the i3070 In-Circuit Test Software is described in the i3070
Online Help.
Follow the same processes when developing tests for the i3070 Series 5i Lean inline
systems, but make sure that you specify the target system using the IN-LINE
keyword during Fixture Configuration:
Fixture Type: IN-LINE
Fixture Size: BANK2
2 Test Development
Orientation of Modules in the Testhead
The i3070 Series 5i Inline systems may have one or two modules in the testhead,
with the modules oriented differently from the other i3070 testheads.

When the i3070 Series 5i Inline system is specified as the target system, the board
graphics display in the software (for example, in Fixture Consultant) is automatically
rotated 90 degrees to show the same view as the actual system.
To facilitate test development, X-Y coordinates used for boards/components and
board placement do not change according to the system. Simply note the rotation
of the X-Y axes when working with the i3070 Series 5i.

Using Dual Board Staging
Dual Board Staging allows for the testing of two single boards simultaneously,
using the Throughput Multiplier feature. It is an optional feature1 on the i3070
Series 5i Lean inline systems.
Loading and testing of boards
If this feature is available on your system, an additional board stopper is used to
help position the two boards correctly for testing. Both boards must be successfully
scanned at the upstream system before testing in the i3070 Lean inline system. If
barcode scanning fails for one or both boards, both boards are moved straight
through to the downstream machine without testing.

Fixturing/Test Development
Note the following during fixturing/test development when the Dual Board Staging
feature is used.
Board specifications
Minimum board size is 50 mm (L) x 60 m (W)
Maximum board size is 150 mm (L) x 350 m (W)
During fixturing/test development, ensure that the distance between the two
boards is at least 50 mm (approximately 19685 tenth mils) to avoid overlapping and
interference between the boards.
Testmain file for Dual Board Staging
The testmain_inline_panel_DBS file provided for dual board staging includes
control commands for the second board.
In the $AgilentICT_ROOT/standard) folder, rename testmain_inline_panel_DBS
to testmain_inline_panel so that the appropriate commands will be included in
the testplan for dual board staging.
Alternatively, you can manually edit the testplan to include the Passed/Failed
control commands for the second board.
Enable Dual Board testing
Enable dual board testing from the LCD touch panel.
1 In Maintenance mode, select Setting.
2 Tap Next until the Setting 5 page is displayed, and enable Dual Board Testing.
