You need to upgrade e-Sharing Box to Ver. 2.1.34 (see the table below)
when installing.
Obtain this version from the download site and save it on the notebook
computer beforehand.

The following issues were resolved with ver. 2.1.34:

1 An error is displayed if the user enters "admin" as the User ID of a New
Administrator account and tries to register in the next screen (e-Sharing Box Initial
Settings - Admin; see FSM pg. 29).

Note: A recovery tool is available for cases where this error occurs with Ver. 2.0.23
(instructions TBA).

2 The IP address entered in the Web UI is not applied (the change is only displayed)
in the case of a mixed IPv4 and IPv6 network environment.

3 The WEB UI screen for Maintenance Mode is displayed in Japanese (see FSM pg.
77).

Procedure:
1. Click “Show Setting Screen”.

2. Click “Update settings” under “Maintenance”.

3. Check the current version.

4. Upload a File (A1-2-1-34.7z) that is stored in the notebook PC.

5. Click “Apply Update Program” to start the update process.

When update is completed, the machine restarts. (It takes about 15 minutes.)

6. Log in to Web UI again.

7. After completing applying the latest version, check if the “Current version” is V2.1.34

e-Sharing Box:
When a domain user ([domain name]\[user ID]) is specified as an account in
the "Network Share Connection" setting, files cannot be downloaded or
uploaded.
When trying to register a smart device, if there are 100 smart devices,
including invalid ones, listed in the "Device Authentication" setting, it cannot
be registered because an invalid one is not deleted automatically.

DocsConnect for iOS:

Even though "Auto. erase favorite files" is set to an option other than "off",
the files are not deleted after the specified time has elapsed.
When trying to delete a numeral that was manually entered in the fax
destination, it might not be able to be deleted and the error message "The
entry is invalid." might be displayed.
2.5.38 ＜New features＞
e-Sharing Box:
- Support for a new workflow to delete files stored in the e-Sharing Box after a
specified number of days has elapsed.
- Support for a new workflow to print files stored in the e-Sharing Box on a
specified MFP.
- Support for sorting received faxes by date in the "Receive fax and save"
workflow.
- Support for prohibiting access to shared and personal folders from the
DocsConnect application.

＜Improvements＞
e-Sharing Box:
- The maximum number of shared workflows has been increased to 50.
- The title of the notification email has been changed to inform a user of the
actions conducted in the e-Sharing Box.

DocsConnect for iOS and Android:

- When selecting the fax destination from the address book registered on a
smart device, the name of the fax destination is displayed on the Fax
Transmission screen.
- Videos stored on a smart device can be uploaded to the e-Sharing Box.
- When deleting a folder in the KeywordSearch folder, the "All the files in the

The menu composition of the website UI has been changed.
The operation guide that was released on the Ricoh's website can be referred to

<Fixes>
e-Sharing Box:
When updating a file that is stored on the NAS device or shared network folder
that is registered on Network Share Connection, the file might not be updated when
viewing it via DocsConnect.
The shutdown or restart process might suddenly stop.
When entering a non-numeric character in the port number setting in the website
UI, the screen will go back to the logon screen.

When the "Email send. auth." setting is enabled, if "Email Sending Test" is
conducted while "User ID" and "Password" are set but "Apply" is not pressed, the test
will fail.

In Microsoft Excel, when saving while on the second worksheet, browsing in
DocsConnect might fail.
The e-Sharing Box might not appear in the "Computer" list in Windows Explorer.
After logging on several times anonymously and accessing the e-Sharing Box
from DocsConnect or the website UI, an error might occur.

Important Information about Machine Recovery via DVD

 This model can be recovered using a DVD. Use this DVD if the machine will not
start up and recovery is deemed necessary.
 Note that only the Japanese language version of the DVD is available.

PRCOEDURE FOR RECOVERY VIA DVD

Required items:
• USB 2.0–based DVD drive that can read DVD-DLs
• USB keyboard
• Monitor with analog RGB interface
• DVD media provided by support teams at Ricoh Co., Ltd.

Main procedure:
1) Connect the monitor to the VGA connector of the Ricoh e-Sharing Box.
2) Connect the keyboard to the USB connector on the (lower) rear side of the e-Sharing
Box.
3) Connect the DVD drive to the USB port on the front of the e-Sharing Box.
4) Plug in the e-Sharing Box.
5) Turn on the e-Sharing Box. When the "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD..."
message appears, press any key on the keyboard.

The recovery program on the DVD will begin a few minutes later.
Note: The DVD has first boot priority and the HDD has second boot priority.

6) Select the region and press [Enter].

0: For Japan (DOM: D668-00)

1: For North America (NA: D668-01)
2: For European Union (EU: D688-02)
3: For Asia (AA: D688-03)

7) Select the installation method from the list, and press [Enter].
Note: The simplest method (“2”) is recommended.

1: Full installation (takes approx. 6 hours or more)

2: Simple installation (takes approx. 30 min.)
3: Go to the menu to delete the data on the HDD
4: Turn off the e-Sharing Box

Note: The HDD will be initialized and the operating system will be installed on it.

8) If the following message appears, disconnect the DVD drive and press any key on the
keyboard. Following this, the e-Sharing Box will automatically reboot twice.

Note: This message means that the recovery has been completed successfully.

9) Confirm that the e-Sharing Box puts out two short beeps twice (total 4 beeps) when the
Windows login screen appears after the second reboot.
Note: The third and fourth beeps are higher in pitch than the first two.

10) Disconnect the monitor and connect the e-Sharing Box to the PC via LAN2 (lower
port), using a cross cable.
11) Access the e-Sharing Box using the static IP, "192.168.0.4".
12) Update the system and configure the settings from the Web UI.
