A. Job Application.
The story begins with a man named Mark Johnson wants to apply for a job application in a certain
company, but he’s 5 minutes late for a job interview and he need to fill out a job application form.
Mark Johnson seems to be confused on what to fill in the job application form, so he asked the
receptionist to get information on what to fill in the job application form. Here’s some information that
you will need to know to help you fill out the job application form:
1. You need to write your full name, not your nickname.
2. You need to write your home address, not your university address.
3. You need to write full time and part time job.
4. You need to write your full information for the job application.
5. You need to write 2 of your references but it cannot be your family member.
6. If you have a resume, you don’t need to fill the job application form, because resume includes all
of your information.
B. Conversation at Work.
Receptionist: “May I help you?”.
Mark Johnson: “Yes, you can. My name is Mark Johnson and I’m 5 minutes late for a job interview”.
Receptionist: “That’s okay, you can fill out this job application, you can have a seat right over there”.
Mark Johnson: “Thankyou”.
Receptionist: “You’re Welcome”
Mark Johnson: “Excuse me, on this application should I use my full name or my nickname?”.
Receptionist: “Your full name would be the best”.
Mark Johnson: “Thankyou”.
Receptionist: “You’re welcome”.
Mark Johnson: “Excuse me, for my address do you want my home address or my university address?”.
Receptionist: “Your home address would be the best”.
Mark Johnson: “Thankyou”.
Receptionist: “You’re welcome”.
Mark Johnson: “Pardon me, for full time job we need full time or part time?”.
Receptionist: “We want your full time, part time, everything”.
Mark Johnson: “For references?”.
Receptionist: “You need two of them”.
Mark Johnson: “Can it be somebody in my family?”
Receptionist: “No, it cannot be a family member”.
Mark Johnson: “Okay”.
Receptionist: “That’s okay, don’t worry about it. Do you have a resume? , if you give me a resume that’s
all we need”.
Mark Johnson: “Sure, I have one”.
Receptionist: “Thank you very much, please have a seat and my boss will be with you in a moment,
please sit down, just sit down”.
Mark Johnson: “Okay”.

The Office Manager: “Hello Mr. Johnson, I’m Sam Wilson the office manager. How are you?”
Mark Johnson: “I’m fine thank you, it’s nice to meet you Mr. Wilson”.
The Office Manager: “It’s nice to meet you too, would you please come into my office?”.
