Iceberg Penguin Game LP

This lesson plan is for a 30-minute physical education class for grade 3 students focused on the topic of icebergs/penguins. The general learning outcome is cooperation and the specific outcome is for students to interact positively through communication, fair play, leadership, and teamwork. The lesson involves playing a game where students move around the gym until the teacher calls out a number, at which point the students must group up in hula hoops in groups of that number. If a student does not make it into a group on time, they must do a short exercise. The teacher reflected that the students enjoyed the game and that the simple instructions allowed them to play for the full time, challenging them further by increasing the called numbers
