P3914, Troubleshooting information
Step by step troubleshooting
This DTC can be set as a result of multiple failure
modes. All steps of the troubleshooting tree must
be completed.
Step 1: Check for DTCs
Step 1A - Check for ACTIVE DTC P3818
Action
1. Check for ACTIVE DTC P3818 in combination with P3914.
Is only P3818 ACTIVE in combination with P3914?
YES NO
Perform a stationary regeneration.
Go to 7A Go to 1B
Step 1B - Check for other ACTIVE DTCs related to the AdBlue dosing system in combination with P3914
Action
1. Check for other ACTIVE DTCs in combination with P3914.
AdBlue dosing system or exhaust gas mass flow-related faults?
YES NO
Go to the appropriate DTC Go to 2A
Step 2 - Check for the latest EAS-3 ECU software
Step 2A - Check the EAS-3 ECU software

Make sure that the DAVIE quick check is performed and all diagnostic data is saved in a log file.
Action
1. Check if the latest software is installed in the EAS-3 ECU.
Is the latest software installed in the EAS-3 ECU?
YES NO
Update the EAS-3 ECU to the latest software version.
Go to 3A Go to 3A
Step 3 - Check the NOx sensor after catalyst
Step 3A - Check for proper installation of the NOx sensor after catalyst
Action
1. Inspect the NOx sensor after catalyst (F843) for proper installation.
NOx sensor after catalyst (F843) properly installed?
YES NO
Properly install the NOx sensor after catalyst (F843).
Go to 4A Go to 7A
Step 4 - NOx sensor after catalyst test
Step 4A - Check for the DAVIE NOx sensor test
Action
1. The DAVIE test [evaluate the NOx sensor after catalyst] is available depending on the software version in the
EAS-3 ECU. Check if the test is available for this chassis number.
Is the test available for this chassis number?
YES NO
Go to 4B Go to 5A
Step 4B - Perform the [evaluate the NOx sensor after catalyst] test

Action
1. Perform the [evaluate the NOx sensor after catalyst] test with DAVIE.
Refer to "Evaluate the NOx sensor after catalyst" for additional information.
Did the test result in a failed state?
YES NO
Repeat the test at least 2 times.
Replace the NOx sensor after catalyst if the test failed 3
times.
Go to 7A Go to 6A
Step 5 - Check the aftertreatment decomposition pipe
Step 5A - Check for AdBlue deposits
Action
1. Do not operate the engine.
2. Remove the AdBlue dosing valve (L123) from the vehicle.
3. Inspect the AdBlue dosing valve (L123) and mounting opening for deposits.
4. Inspect the decomposition pipe for deposits with an endoscope.
Excessive AdBlue deposits found inside the decomposition pipe and/or AdBlue dosing valve (L073)?
YES NO
Install the AdBlue dosing valve (L073). A damaged NOx sensor after catalyst (F843) has been
detected. Replace the NOx sensor after catalyst (F843).
Go to 6A Go to 6A
Step 6: Regeneration
Step 6A - Stationary regeneration
Action
1. Perform a stationary regeneration with DAVIE.
Start recording the [Aftertreatment overview] monitor.
Stationary regeneration completed successfully?
YES No
Upload the recorded data to the PACCAR back office. Repeat the stationary regeneration.

Step 7A - Reset the DTCs
Action
1. Reset the DTCs.
2. If DTCs are still ACTIVE, troubleshoot the ACTIVE DTCs.

YES NO
Return to troubleshooting steps.
