Mandarin or Mandarin Chinese – is the official
language in China. This refers to the northern dialect, which is used by

over 52% of the Chinese or Han People and has become the lingua

franca for the whole of China.

This is also considered as the 2nd international language in the world.

The national language is known as Putonghua or “common speech,”

which is taught in school and used as medium of instruction in colleges

and universities.

At present, teaching and learning Mandarin must start in standard form

which is known as pinyin or “spell sound.” It was adopted by the

People’s Republic of China in 1958. Pinyin is used as a tool to teach

the correct pronunciation of the Chinese language especially to non-

native speakers.

Nouns, Nouns phrases, and Pronouns

Am, is, are, was and were will be eliminated if the subject is followed by a
predicate.

The word “bù” (不) means 'no' or 'not', and is used to create a negative
form of a verb in a sentence. But because of how the tones work in Chinese,
“bù ” changes its pronunciation in some cases. It's really not that difficult to
deal with, but because doing it right seems to take practice, here's how it
works.

不 bu-tone rule

bù If the following word is

at the 1st, 2nd & 3rd sandhis
bú If the following word is at the
4th sandhis
bu If placed in the middle of the same
word

Bu Approach:
Ni hao bu hao?

In this form of approach, the particle ma is eliminated.
