HOW TO UPDATE ADDRESS AND
PHONE NUMBERS
If you are in F-1 visa status, you are required to keep your
address and telephone number updated in the SEVIS system.
To update your address or phone number if there is a change:
• Email Cheryl Gimple at
[email protected] using your
Bucmail email address (@csustudent.net). Include your current
US address and phone number.
• To update your address or phone number in the CSU system
(MyCSU and Slingshot bookstore), email
[email protected] from your CSU email address and include your name, CSUID#
and the new address and telephone information.

YOU CAN ACCESS YOUR BUCMAIL ACCOUNT BY LOGGING INTO
MYCSU AND CLICKING ON THE BUCMAIL LINK ON THE LEFT. THIS WILL
TAKE YOU TO THE WINDOWS OFFICE 365 SIGN-IN PAGE. YOUR
BUCMAIL ADDRESS IS YOUR WINDOWS LIVE ID WHEN LOGGING INTO
YOUR EMAIL ACCOUNT.

• Your login name is: Your email address
• This is usually the first letter of your first name, the first letter of your
middle name, and then your surname/last name. So for me it would be
[email protected] (C is for Cheryl, L is for Lynn, and then my
last name!)
• Your initial password is: first 2 initials of your last name
(first letter is uppercase and 2nd letter is lower case) and
your CSU ID# (for example, Gi206721)
BLACKBOARD
Once you are registered for classes here at Charleston Southern, you will
have access to an online portal called Blackboard to find detailed
information about your classes. You can get to Blackboard through the
main menu of MyCSU, or directly through this link. Your log-in information is
your ID # (username) and MyCSU PIN (password).
Please note: many professors do not add students to courses in
Blackboard until right before classes begin, or even a few days into the
term. If you see classes missing from Blackboard, this is fairly normal. Your
professor will likely address Blackboard access during the first week of the
term, so you will receive further instructions directly from them.

You will receive an email to your

Then you will go back to the

password that you just set.
Paying your bill (tuition, fees, room and board)
• All fees and payments are handled by the Student Accounts Office
which is located on the second floor of the Student Center.

• Payment is due by the first day of class.
• Submit Payment through your MyCSU account:
• Select Student Tab
• Select Payments, eBills, eRefund, MyPayment Plan
• Select Make a Payment
• Follow prompts to complete payment
• Or submit payment through the Charleston Southern University
website
• Select the top right corner menu
• Scroll down and select Online Payments
• Select appropriate payment and follow prompts to
complete payment
You can also set up monthly payments through “MyPayment Plan”
• Payment is due by the first day of class.
• Payment plans are offered for the fall and spring semesters of
each academic year and must be set up each semester.
• The enrollment fee of $45/semester is due at the time of
enrollment.
• Payment plans do not accrue interest on the account and keep
your account in good standing as long as payments are current.
• There is a 4- or 5-month plan available each semester
(depending on the start date)
• All payments are due the first of each month, with a $30 late
fee assessed after the fifth.
• Set up payment plans
• Students log into your MyCSU account, select the Student
Tab across the top.
• Select Select Payments, eBills, eRefund, MyPayment Plan.
• Select view payment plan options.
• Select appropriate payment plan and follow prompts to
complete enrollment.
Where to find payment information in MyCSU
Log into MyCSU, Click the student tab, and then click
“Payments, ebills, My Payment Plan”
Campus Security (Parking, Student IDs, and Emergencies)
Visit Security online for important information such as: Rules
for Personal Safety, Campus Security Escort Program,
Emergency Notification Devices, Parking Information and a link
to register your vehicle.
Access parking information as well as our online vehicle
registration page from the main Security Office homepage.
Decals are required for all vehicles on campus and only cost
about $20 – versus a $50 ticket per occurrence if you don’t
have one. Once you have completed the registration form, your
parking permit will be mailed within 1 –2 weeks of purchase.
You will receive an email with a temporary permit that should
be printed and placed in the front driver side windshield until
your vehicle permit arrives in the mail.
You can contact Campus Security at 843-553-5896 for
emergencies or 843-863-7105 for non-emergencies. Save
these numbers for future reference!
Pick up your Student ID Card from the Security Office located
in Quad 3! Your first ID card is free and can be obtained
Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
