Data sheet:
Gage length = 50 mm = 2 inch, Diameter = 12.5 mm = 0.48 inch,

Extensometer constant == 0.001 mm or 0.00005 inch.
Sample calculation:
For observation no. 2:
Load = 5 KN = 5 x 224.81 = 1124.05 Ib.
Extensometer reading = 48
Elongation = 48 x 0.00005 = 0.0024 inch.
Stress = 𝐿𝑜𝑎𝑑 = 1124.05 = 6210.22 psi .
𝐶𝑟𝑜𝑠𝑠 𝑠𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑎𝑙 𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑎 0.181
Strain = 𝐶ℎ𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑒 𝑖𝑛 𝑙𝑒𝑛𝑔𝑡ℎ = 0.0024 = 0.0012 .
𝑂𝑟𝑖𝑔𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑙 𝑙𝑒𝑛𝑔𝑡ℎ 2
And so on.

Discussion:
The results of the experiment shows that the specimen of mild steel is ductile as it undergoes ductile failure ( reduction
of at the fracture point) . The lower yield point is --------. To get accurate result ----------.
