In this Article, I am sharing the steps. How to Install Windows 2019 Operating System,
Active Directory Domain Services and Exchange 2019 Server. For this installation, i used
Hyper V Virtual Machine with 4 Core CPU and 8 GB of RAM. This Article is targeted for
Beginner's to Advance admins.
In this Article, I am sharing the steps. How to Install Windows 2019 Operating System,
Active Directory Domain Services and Exchange 2019 Server. For this installation, i used
Hyper V Virtual Machine with 4 Core CPU and 8 GB of RAM.
As Microsoft has not provided Exchange 2019 for general public to download. Lot of admins
are curious to known about Exchange 2019. How it looks, how to install etc. Luckily I got a
chance to install Exchange 2019 for a POC. So, I thought to share it with my Experts-
Exchange users too. In this Article, I have provided all screenshots starting Windows 2019
Operating System Installation, Active Directory Installation, all prerequisites installation and
finally Exchange 2019 installation. These screenshot would be really helpful for Beginners or
who are new to Microsoft and want to learn in-depth. Feel free to let me know, if you need
more details related to Exchange 2019 or any further KB.

Exchange 2019 Installation Guide


Step 1
Windows 2019 Installations (Download ISO: https://www.microsoft.com/en-
us/evalcenter/evaluate-windows-server-2019 )
Step 2
Configuring IP Address

Step 3
Domain Controller Installations: Setting up a new Forest and Domain
Click on Manage>Add Roles and Features
Select Role-based or feature-based Installation
Select the Server

Select Active Directory Domain Services


Click Install
Click on Promote a server to domain controller
Click on Add a new forest and enter new forest name in text box.
Enter DSRM Password
Click on Install button
Note: Server will reboot automatically
Step 4
Verifying Domain Controller:

Check for Active Directory new snap-in. Installed after ADDS installations.

Exchange Server 2019 Prerequisite Installation (Download: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-
us/exchange/plan-and-deploy/prerequisites?view=exchserver-2019#windows-server-2019-
prerequisites-for-exchange-2019 )
Install .Net Framework 4.8
Install VC++ 2012
Install VC++ 2013
Install the Server Media Foundation windows feature

Install Unified Communications Managed API 4.0.


Reboot
Step 6
Exchange 2019 Installation (Download: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/new-
features/build-numbers-and-release-dates?view=exchserver-2019)
Note: You need to login to Microsoft Volume Licensing Center to download Exchange 2019
Launch the Exchange 2019 setup file and follow the screen, by clicking Next button
Select Mailbox Role option and Automatically Install Windows Server roles and Features
option,
Provide the Exchange Organization Name.
Note: If you are installing Exchange server on DC. You will be getting below message.
Reboot
Verifying Exchange server after installation.
Service Snap-in
Login into EAC
Testing mail flow internally via OWA
Note: Exchange Server installation complete here. Post installation task, like certificate
configuration, MX record etc. I am not covering in this KB.
