After procurement of material, we can store that material at 2 levels:
1- Inventory Level
2- Properly managed place: Warehouse.
SAP Implementation Guide (IMG):
- Enterprise Structure of organization is designed in IMG.
- Configuration and Assignment within organization is set up in IMG.
SPRO: SAP Project Reference Object:
It has DISPLAY IMG from which we can Configure and Assign warehouse things.
Sap Organization Structure & Mapping of IM and WM
Inventory Level mapped to Warehouse is described below:
1- Company Code
2- Plant
3- Storage Location (Inventory Managed)
4- Warehouse Number (Warehouse Managed)
To link Warehouse management to inventory management, you need to assign warehouse number to
plant and storage location.
Control Parameters of Warehouse:
Control Parameters are unit of measure, blocking logic and message control.
Number Range for warehouse related documents.
Note: Storage location is lowest level of Inventory Management. (IM)
First Organization Structure is Warehouse Number.
1 – First we define warehouse number.
Steps:
1- SPRO
2- Display IMG
3- Enterprise Structure
4- Definition
5- Logistics Execution
6- Define Copy, delete, check warehouse number.
7- Select Warehouse number.
8- Select NEW ENTRIES icon
9- Enter Warehouse number and its description.
10- Click on Save
11- Now, your warehouse number is DEFINED.
After defining WH number, you need to assign it to plant or storage location to map it to IM.
2- To assign WH num to Plant and Storage Location:
Steps:
1- SPRO
2- Display IMG
3- Enterprise Structure
4- Assignment
5- Logistics Execution
6- Assign Warehouse num to plant /storage location
7- New Entry.
8- Enter your Data/Test data.
9- Hit Enter
10- Save
11- Click OK on customizing request pop-up.
Now, your WH num is mapped to plant/storage location
Now, Control Parameters of Warehouse.
Steps:
1- Logistic Execution
2- Warehouse Management
3- Master Data
4- Define control parameters for WH number
5- Search for WH num
6- Click on position
7- Select WH num
8- Once, your control parameters are defined
9- Then, click on SAVE
Now, WH Control Parameters are defined successfully.
Number Range:
Steps:
1- Logistics Execution.
2- Warehouse Management
3- Master Data
4- Define Number Ranges
5- Click on Assignment Number Ranges
6- Search for WH num
7- Click on Position and enter your WH num.
8- Now, set ranges for your WH related documents Eg: TO, posting change notice, Quant etc
9- Save
WE HAVE DEFINED WAREHOUSE NUMBER, SET CONTROL PARAMETERS AND SET NUMBER
RANGES.
