1. Introduction
1.1 Project Description
Building construction is the engineering that deals with the construction of building
such as residential houses. The building is a structure with a roof and walls standing
more or less permanently in one place such as a house or factory. Building come in a
variety of sizes, shapes and function and have been adopted throughout history for a
wide number of factors, from building materials available, to weather conditions, to land
prices, ground conditions, specific uses and aesthetic reasons. Building serves several
needs of the society- primary as shelter from weather, security, living space, privacy, to
store belongings, and to comfortably live and work. A building as a shelter
represents a physical division of the human habbit (a place of comfort and safety) and
the outside (a place of that at times may be harsh and harmful).
1.2 Project Components
The Project comprised the construction of following components:
I. Substructure:
a. Foundation
I. Superstructure
a. Plinth
b. Wall and columns
c. Beams
d. Roofs and slabs

4. Project Schedule
Site work started in August 1, 2021 and the Project has completed till 11/4/2021. Project
activities from preparation to actual construction were generally on target, hindered only by the
unexpected delay in Laying Foundation stone and RCC Works. The appraisal and actual
implementation schedules are shown chart.
5. Limitation of Project
Due to the limitations in the budget of the client, proper water proofing couldn’t be
done. Also, the building lies near a river, which may overflow during heavy monsoon
and may cause some problems. The obvious disadvantages are the delay in occupancy
while land acquisition, design work, and building are going on, and the cost of overruns
and mistakes caused by forecasting errors and planning oversights. Certainly, there are
risks associated with construction. But for small- and mid-sized business owners that
choose this method of expansion and/or growth—and plan wisely both before, during,
and after the construction phase.
