SINGAPORE SCHOLARSHIP
ADMINISTRATIVE INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLICANTS
1. The application form must be completed in English.
2. Certified English translations of supporting documents (i.e. certificates,
testimonials and transcripts) must be submitted for documents that are not in English.
3. The application form and supporting documents must be of A4 size and printed on
1 side only.
4. The application form must be duly completed and endorsed by the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs or the relevant agency responsible for the Singapore Scholarship Award in
your country. (The list of relevant agencies is available at
‘http://www.scp.gov.sg/content/scp/scholarships/singapore_scholarship.html#tabs-4’)
5. Four copies of the application form and four copies of supporting documents
must be submitted to the Singapore Embassy/High Commission/Consulate-General in
your country through the relevant agency responsible for administering the award of the
Singapore Scholarship in your country (Annex A).
6. Applicants should fulfil the eligibility criteria in Annex B. Applications must reach
the Singapore Embassy/High Commission/Consulate-General in your country by 12
December 20141.
7. The Singapore Scholarship covers full tuition fees, a return economy class airfare
between the Scholar’s home country and Singapore when commencing and upon
successful completion of the undergraduate course. It includes a living allowance of
about S$4,300 per academic year to help cover meals, transport, textbooks and course
materials. Accommodation expenses based on the room rates at each
university/designated hostel will also be covered.

Annex B
Eligibility Criteria for the Singapore Scholarship
The Singapore Scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit and open competition.
Citizens of ASEAN member countries (excluding Singapore) are eligible to apply for the Singapore
Scholarship.
Candidates must have an outstanding academic record, a good command of English and meet the
entry requirements for NTU, NUS and SMU. The basic academic requirements specific to
candidates from each ASEAN country are outlined below:
Brunei Darussalam
• completed General Certificate of Education Advanced Level with a pass in English and 3
other ‘A’ level subjects within the last 3 years
Cambodia
• currently undergoing 1st year or 2nd year of undergraduate studies in a Cambodian
university
Indonesia
• currently undergoing 1st year of undergraduate studies in an Indonesian university
• passed the Indonesia SMU Ujian Akhir Nasional (UAN) with good academic results within
the last 3 years;
• Grade 12 students taking Indonesian SMU UAN in following year
Lao People's Democratic Republic
• currently undergoing 1st year or 2nd year of undergraduate studies in a Laotian university
Malaysia
• completed any of the following examinations within the last 3 years:
(i) Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM)
