1. Develop Personal SWOT Analysis as a student of BCS-IT reflecting on
your strengths and weakness as qualities, competencies, experience,
skills, determinations and mindset and also think about opportunities
and threats from the perspective of social, cultural and business
environment with focus on dynamic and competitive nature of 21st
century job market. (20 marks) (CLO2:PLO2:C4)
Before staring a discussion on Personal SWOT analysis, we need to understand SWOT
Analysis,
SWOT Analysis is necessary for our successful life. SWOT stands for Strength, Weakness,
Opportunities, and Threats, so SWOT analysis is a technique or process to evaluate or estimate
these four aspects of any organization or business. SWOT analysis is a simple tool that helps for
assessing what any organization or individual does best and plan for a better future.
Strength and Weakness are a part of any personal or organization that can be controlled and
changed according to the necessity whereas Opportunity and Threats are those aspects which
are not in personal control and cannot be changed but can take advantage of the Opportunity
and be aware against the threat.
Personal SWOT analysis is a framework to determine the personal Strength, Weakness, as well
as the Opportunity and Threats that any individual face. Personal SWOT analysis implies the
parts good at and factors that need improvement. When we think of our strength
somewhere we also find our weakness. Strength are the qualities, certification, experiences,
knowledge, skill, etc. that other find unique that helps in our professional life whereas
weaknesses are anger, behavior, and soon that don’t support our professional growth.
On the other hand, opportunity and threat are based on our strength and weakness associated
with our work area. Opportunity of any BSC-IT students are high salary, performance-based pay,
freelancing, royalty, and many more whereas Threats are Highly Dynamic, constant need to
upgrade, to many collages, courses and students as compared to job opportunity, low salary and
underpaid, high competition, competition between university course and institute training.

A SWOT analysis of BCS-IT students organizes top strengths, weaknesses, opportunities,
and threats into an organized list and is usually presented in a simple way;

This describes the skill needed to generate or think any ideas to solve any commercial as well as
technical problem and sharing among the people as soon as it comes in mind. Such skills can be
very effective in solving problems in short interval of time and can be a necessity for successful
and effective professional career development.
2. Chosing appropriate solution that can solve the problem,
This is also one of the important and effective life skill that describes the skill needed to select
the most appropriate and effective solution form different other solutions for any occurring
problem that can solve the problem fast and in an effective way. Such skill reduce time needed
and for solving any problem.
3. Communication and interpersonal skills.
This describes the skills needed to get on and work with other people, share ideas and
problems with other college and particularly to transfer and receive messages either in
writing or verbally. Such skill are needed in any organizations and big projects which
cannot be completed by individual effort and ideas.
4. Decision-making and problem-solving.
This describes the skills required to understand problems, find solutions to them, alone
or with others, and then take action to address them. Decision-making is an important skill
in every individuals life.
5. Creative thinking and critical thinking.
This describes the ability to think in different and unusual ways about problems, and find
new solutions, or generate new ideas, coupled with the ability to assess information
carefully and understand its relevance.
6. Assertiveness and equanimity, or self-control.
These describe the skills needed to stand up for yourself and other people for your right and
prestige, and remain calm even in the face of considerable provocation. Such skill are needed
for self-development.
