Assessment Task 2 Emotional intelligence self-
assessment project
Task summary
Youare required to identify aspects of own emotional intelligence by completing a personality test and
a self-assessment.
You will then be required to develop an emotional intelligence development plan, based on your own
self-assessment, as well as feedback from your assessor provided in a meeting.
This task will be completed in the simulated work environment at Strathfield College.

In my opinion, you can improve performance by working hard and giving yourself 100% to every task.
Because I always enjoy the work I'm involved in. We believe in staying calm in all situations, and the
pressure of work is not easily stressful. There is also a kind and friendly attitude. This means that you
are ready to help your colleagues in difficult situations or incomprehensible tasks.
c. Thinking about the questions asked as part of the personality test and your learnings as part
of this unit, identify five of your emotional strengths.
As per personality test, five of my emotional strengths are:
1. I am fully aware of my strengths, weaknesses, and the emotions within me
2. I believe that I am self-regulated person which means I can easily handle or manage my
emotions or my impulse attitude.
3. I believe that I am empathetic towards others as I am very supportive by nature and easily
gets in helping the one who needs me at the time.
4. I am self-motivated which mean I love doing my work and I don’t believe being lazy.
5. I can easily manage health relationship between me and my workplace.

My five emotional weaknesses are:
1. I cannot compromise my interests and passions for anyone in the world, even family and
friends.
2. I really don’t know that how to say no to others because of my helping nature.
3. One of my weaknesses is that when I look closely at someone, I easily start to criticize
myself.
4. I am afraid from public speaking.
5. I have to work on my presentation skills.
e. Explain how you believe the emotional strengths you have identified above help your
workplace performance and relationships.
a. Self-awareness ensures that I do not hurt the sentiments of others and do not stick in to the
situation.

As I have lots of strengths within me there are also some weaknesses also which I have identified
some of the weakness which have created lots of problems in my performance and relationship:
1. I realized that I couldn't say no to my colleagues because of my beneficial personality and
behavior. It caused a lot of problems and affected my performance.
2. The next weakness is that it has an uncompromising personality. In short, passion and
interests cannot be compromised and can lead to big battles and debates.
3. As I know I have to work a lot on my presentation skills due which I am not able to present my
ideas or thoughts to my boss or manager.
4. I am quite afraid of public speaking which lead me to not to participate in any presentation or
event.
