Fidelitus Gallery is a new generation art gallery in heart of the city located at

Brigade Software Park, BSK 2nd Stage.

Established in 2014, Fidelitus Gallery contributes towards enlightening and


enriching society through the arts. It promotes various art forms and showcases
impactful paintings.

Fidelitus Gallery hosts exhibitions by sculptors, painters, print-makers, artisans,


ceramics, photographers, and storytellers. It regularly conducts interactive
programs, lecture series, demonstrations, slide shows, master classes, on
various topics representing experts from different genres.

Gallery has the responsibility to act as a bridge to void the gap between artisans
and the buyers or collectors. The platform also supports aspiring artists to
interact with the art fraternity at various levels. The gallery has continued to be
a “Hotspot” / center of activity and happenings, connoisseurs of art, art buyer,
collectors, and the public.
CURATORIAL NOTE
Fidelitus Gallery is pleased to present “Consortium- Art preceptors of Bengaluru Art Institutions”, a
group exhibition portraying paintings, prints, drawings and sculptures by Akkihebbal Murthy Prakash,
Babu Jattakar, Gopal Kammar, Nagappa Pradhani, Sridhar Murthy, Prathibha T S, T S Baoni, Vishal
Kavatekar, Nirmala Kumari and Mallappa S Halli from Kalamandir School of Arts, College of Fine Arts
and Ken School of Arts.

The artworks on view holistically showcases the rich legacy of art education in the city and convey a
sense of individuality yet a profound unity in the art community. The curatorial objective demonstrates
and identifies works that speak on objects of daily consumption, churning of thoughts, human
expressiveness inspired by natural, geometric and folk forms transformed into art objects. Exhibits
takes one on an emotional expedition, tapping and enquiring innermost thoughts, observations and
beliefs. The exhibition carries a theme to highlight on-going practice of active senior faculties. These
institutions carry a history with them which has shaped the art scene in the city. These organisations
have given extraordinary set of alumnus who have manifested the Art industry.

Fidelitus Gallery in association with Shilpa Foundation, supports the underprivileged in Karnataka
with the revenue generated from the sale proceeds. Art for Cause is the motto of the organisation
which drives us to create and achieve new milestones for the society through the organisation.
The focus is on providing sustainable environment to the communities with the support of Art.
Presenting to you a hybrid form of the temporary exhibition both in virtual and physical form.

Visual Artist, Ex - Principal, Kalamandir
School of Arts

Mr. Prakash, face of a century old art


institute- Kalamandir, Karnataka’s first fine
arts school, was founded in Bengaluru in
1919, is a generous and humble senior
visual artist. He has been graciously
educating and spreading the awareness of
art and culture for more than 4 decades.

developed sophisticated artistic skills,
Kalamandir also stood strong through his
grandchildren A M Prakash’s efforts. Mr.
Prakash with his lines speaks of profound
thoughts and observations of happening in
the ecosystem.

Regardless of our silence on the outside,


with in our mind there exists a constant
conflict between what we want and
disbelief and observing multitude of things
happening ground us.

In this ebb and flow of mind, our thoughts


are constantly filling up to the brim and
emptying themselves. This process of
constructing and deconstructing is a
journey in itself.

In this context the emotions that arise from


varied mind sets are what he has tried to
capture with in these lines.
Babu Jattakar
Ast. Professor, Dept. of Applied Art College
of Fine arts, Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath

Babu Jattaker has held several solo and


group shows like 50th year Independence,
M.S.Nanjundarao Felicitation’, ‘Teachers
Eye’ (2004). He has also had Two men
show in Painting and Drawing at the State
Gallery of Fine Art (Indian Art Gallery),
Hyderabad (2008).

He has designed and executed


Photography Museum on Upper Krishna
Project at Cultural Sector, Navanagar,
Bagalkot (2005). He is also the Member
of Karnataka Cartoonist Association,
Bangalore. He has received All India Art
Exhibition Award (1st Prize) conducted
by Navarang Art Academy, Vijayawada,
Andhra Pradesh (2009). His works are in
Private collections in India and abroad.

Mr. Babu Jattakar’s pen and ink work on


somarset acid free paper is intricately
executed with immense attention to detail.
The works capture the cities time and
space in his series.
Gopal Kammar
Faculty, Sculpture Department,
College of Fine Arts

Gopal Kammar has been an excellent


sculptor of the state. He has received
Karnakata Shilpakala Academy Award,
Best Teacher awarded by Civil Defence and
Lions Club International and many more.

Nagappa Pradhani
Faculty, Sculpture Department,
College of Fine Arts

Born in Manvi, Mr. Pradhani has been a


sculptor who experiments with materials.
He has been facilitated with Karnataka
Lalitha Kala Academy Scholarship for
sculpture in 1990. He has also been
awarded with Mysore Dasara Award-
1998-2000 and many more.
Mother and Child

Mr. Pradhani works in all forms of medium


in sculpture. He is also known for his
simple and impressive style of sculpture.
Mr. Pradhani has exhibited in numerous
exhibitions in the city and the country.
Prathibha T S
Faculty, Sculpture Department,
College of Fine Arts

Professor in the Department of Painting.


College of Fine Arts, CKP Bangalore. I
have served in various capacities including
Principal in 2007, Controller of Exams,
BOS Chairman, Headed the Department
for several years, including organising
workshops and similar academic activities.
The Lunch Table Monday To Saturday

The mundane ordinary objects appear


magical and assume an important role
on the table. The stillness and quiet of the
objects tell tales speaking in a silent voice.
The lunch table plays different roll each
day making the usual day different from
the previous day
Tejendra Singh Baoni
Faculty, Sculpture Department,
College of Fine Arts

Tejendra Singh Baoni is born in Rewa in the


family of traditional court artist. He Studied
BFA(1985)- MFA(1987) in Sculpture art
at Kalabhavan, Vishwabharati University
Shantiniketan and went on to complete
Post Graduate in sculpture at the Kent
Institute of Art and Design, Canterbury,
England.
The Head

Presently he is Professor in Sculpture


and Principal at The College of Fine Art,
Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat, Bengalore.
He worked since 1987 to till date in CKP.
Baoni’s work is in the collection of the
Herbert Read Art Gallery, UK, The National
Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi and many
private collections in India and abroad.
He has had several solo shows and been
invited to participate in prestigious group
shows in India and abroad.
Mr. Kavatekar
Faculty, Department of Sculpture,
College of Fine Arts

Mr. Kavatekar is a young yet promising


sculptor in the industry. He has been
awarded with Karnataka Shilpakala Award
in 2018 along with many more facilitations.
He has participated in more than 10
exhibitions, camps, online exhibitions etc.
Hmmm

Mr. Kavatekar’s sculptures are a


confluence of experiences of growing up
around folk and traditional art. Folk art in
India is rich with elements, characteristics
and colours. The viewers experience it
in different ways and are captivated by
diverse aspects of the art. They range
from simple to complicated, exaggerated
and decorative. It inspired him to work
on “Expressions” as they are timeless
yet always contemporary. Expressions
reflect our emotions and our true-self. It
is the language spoken without words to
express our thoughts, our nature and our
culture.
Sridhar Murthy
Professor, College of Fine Arts

Mr. Shridhar, born in 1965, is an immensely


talented artist. He has a PhD. from
Mysore University. He has been a part of
National Artist Camp organised by K C K P,
International Exhibition organised by VAM
Art, and much more.
Womb
Mr. Sridhar’s works speaks of the conflict
and imbalance in the ecosystem. He
portrays the end of human species- the
last thing to happen is the womb to be
replaced/covered by plastic. His thoughts
are transformed in his paintings with
regard to the control of synthetic material
over natural elements.
Malappa S Halli
Faculty, Ken School of Arts

Mr. Mallapa Halli is a dedicated art


instructor who preaches that observations
teaching the learner numerous things, if
the viewer practices to keep his/her senses
alive while painting.
Landscape
Mr. Mallappa intricately captures
the streets, cityscapes, landscapes
delightfully in his watercolours.
His expertise is in capturing the light and
shade of fast moving time.
Nirmala Kumari
Faculty, Ken School of Arts

Born in 1962, Tumakur, Mrs. Nirmala has


been active in teaching the arts to the
younger generation. She is a dedicated
educator. Mrs. Nirmala has taught history,
art appreciation to generations of students.
She also believes in life long learning.
Womb
Mrs. Nirmala Kumari creates and has an
expertise on various mediums like acrylic
on canvas, drawings and is also makes
with traditional art, abstract art, along with
teaching art appreciation.
A rt exhibition celebrates senior art faculty from Bengaluru Fidelitus Gallery kicks off 2022
with “Consortium - Art Preceptors of Bengaluru Art Institutions”, a unique art exhibition that draws
attention to and features the on-going practice of active senior faculty members from 3 prominent
Art Institutions in Bengaluru, namely, Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath College of Fine Arts, Kalamandir
School of Arts and Ken School of Arts. Fidelitus Gallery aims to create an inclusive platform for the
arts - both performing arts and visual arts, along with curated art educational pogrammes for the
community.

The gallery is committed towards creating world class art exhibitions by curating hybrid transformative
spaces by following standards of the international committee of exhibitions. It also hopes to make
a difference in the arts sector through sustained efforts, all of which will gradually create lasting
changes in techniques and processes of exhibiting art in the city.
