INTRODUCTION

HDFC Bank Limited is an Indian banking and financial services


companyheadquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It has 88,253 permanent
employeesas on 31st March 2018 and has a presence in Bahrain, HongKong and
Dubai.

HDFC Bank is India’s largest private sector lender by assets.

Itis the largest bank in India by market capitalisation as of February 2016. It


wasranked 69th in 2016 Brand Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands

History

In 1994, HDFC Bank was incorporated with its registered officein Mumbai,
India. Its first corporate office and a full service branch at SandozHouse, Worli
were inaugurated by the then Union Finance Minister, ManmohanSingh.As of
June 30, 2017, the bank's distribution network was at 4,715 branches and12,260
ATMs across 2,657 cities and towns. The bank also installed 4.30 LacsPOS
terminals and issued 235.7 Lacs debit cards and 85.4 Lacs credit card in FY2017.

Products and services

HDFC Bank provides a number of products and services including


wholesalebanking, retail banking, treasury, auto loans, two wheeler loans,
personal loans,loans against property and credit cards. Along with this, various
digitalproducts are Payzapp and Chillr.

Acquisitions

HDFC Bank merged with Times Bank in February 2000. This was the
firstmerger of two private banks in the New Generation private sectorbanks
category. In 2008, Centurion Bank was acquired by HDFC Bank. HDFCBank
Board approved the acquisition of CBoP for 95.1 billion INR in one of thelargest
mergers in the financial sector in

Customers So As To Increase Its Base.
SCOPE OF THE STUDY
This study is conducted to know about the financial position of the HDFC bank.The
scope of this research is to identify the service quality of HDFC bank. Thisresearch is
based on primary data and secondary data. This study only focuseson the dimensions of
service quality, i.e. RATER. It aims to understand the skillof the company in the area of
service quality that are performing well andshows those areas which require
improvement. The study was done taking twobranches of HDFC bank into
consideration. The survey was restricted to thebank customers in Delhi region only.

HYPOTHESIS
The study may cover geographical boundaries of DELHI City only. Due to lack
of awareness, some house loan applicants and loan takers couldnot
respond to questionnaire properly. While studying the aspects of
respondents of HDFC about performanceappraisal, certain items of
investigation had to be dropped in view of non-response from the
respondents.The study of respondents (borrowers) perception is limited to
the itemswhich received enough response from them. Time constraint6.
Sample size constraint7. Research constraint Only single organization will
be studied.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
A Research Methodology defines the purpose of research, how it proceeds, howto
measure progress and what constitute success with respect to the
objectivesdetermined for carrying out the research study. The appropriate
researchdesign formulated is detailed below.

EXPLORATORY RESEARCH

: This kind of research has the primary objective ofdevelopment of insights into
the problem. It studies the main area where theproblem lies and also tries to
evaluate some appropriate courses of action. Theresearch methodology for the
present study has been adopted to reflect theserealities and help to reach the
logical conclusion in an objective and scientificmanner. The present study
