SARANAY FUND
CONTRIBUTION GUIDELINES AND POLICIES
I. OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE:
In view of untimely passing away of the officers and members of the LUPTCI these past years, the officers and members agreed to adopt such system to help or extend financial assistance to the bereaved families called LUPTCI SARANAY FUND LUPTCI SARANAY FUND partakes the nature of financial assistance to be granted to the bereaved family of LUPTCI officers. A deceased ex-officer will be extended saranay assistance through his/her bereaved family upon presentation of Certified True Copy of his/her Death Certificate to the Officers in-charge of LUPTCI in disbursing saranay fund after verification. II. CONTRIBUTION: 1. Officers and interested Members Contribution to the SARANAY FUND shall be compulsory. The amount of P10.00 shall be collected monthly per Barangay Tribal Council by their respective treasurers of the different Tribal Councils in the province. 2. Members of the LUPTCI who are interested to contribute to the said fund are encouraged. III. RESPONSIBILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY: 1. The amount of P10.00 shall be collected by their Tribal Councils respective treasurers of every municipality/city. 2. The treasurer of Barangay Tribal Council shall at all times be prompt in collecting said contribution and to be remitted to the Municipal Tribal Council to the La Union Tribal Council treasurer or representative to be deposited in the bank. 3. To be entitled to claim the total salary benefit one year. Officers and Members who have paid less than one (1) year/s are allowed to receive Saranay benefit proportionate with the number of contributions made. 4. All payments must be properly acknowledged/ receipted. IV. GENERAL RULE ON BENEFICIARIES: 1. If husband and wife are officers and/or members of the saranay fund and their son or daughter, by consanguinity or affinity dies, the amount corresponding to their membership shall be accounted and shall be extended to the bereaved family because they are both contributing to the saranay Fund.
2. In case of brother and sister are officers and/or members, they are entitled to receive P10,000.00 each in the event that their mother or father dies because they are both contributing also to the saranay fund. 3. In case of a mother and her son/daughter are officers and/or members to the saranay fund the amount of P20.00 shall be collected and the amount of P10.000.00 shall be given to the bereaved family and another P10,000.00 shall be given to the son/daughter who is also an officer and/or member of saranay fund". 4. If the parent of the officer and/or member is the deceased, P10, 000.00 shall be given to the employee. If both parents die at the same time, the officer and/or member is entitled to receive the amount of P20.00 or two (2) contributions from the fund. 5. For unmarried officers and/or members who have no supervising parents or they do not have children but have brothers or sisters, such unmarried officer and/or member could designate their own surviving brothers and/or sisters as beneficiaries for purposes of the saranay fund benefit. 6. For officers and/or members who are accredited/certified DSWD Solo Parents. They could designate their married or unmarried children or parents as beneficiaries of this Fund. In effect, the legal beneficiaries of LUPTCI SARANAY FUND members are as follows: SARANAY MEMBERS y For Married Officer/Member parents For Unmarried Officer/Member designated For Solo Parent SARANAY FUND MANAGEMENT BENEFICIARIES - Spouse, married or unmarried children and

A Saranay Team under the LUPTCI shall take charge of the Saranay Fund Management with the assistance of the NCIP Office. The team determines the total amount of saranay fund collections every month and prepares its written report every quarterly to the LUPTCI officers. LUPTCI Saranay Manager who will be elected/appointed by the officers of LUPTCI shall prepare the payment approved by the President of the LUPTCI. The Term shall ensure timely payment of saranay fund to the bereaved families together with a Condolence Card to be signed by the officers of LUPTCI. VI. EFFECTIVITY:
These LUPTCI Saranay Fund Policies and Guidelines shall take effect upon approval of the officers of the LUPTCI and shall remain in force until revoked and/or amended by LUPTCI officers.
