When your nightmares unfold before your very eyes...
The Ghost of
Nightmares
Ever wonder what really comes after calamities? Some might think it’s
rainbows and hopes that follows. But to others, calamities bring such
horror and distress to their minds. The ghost of their nightmares. It’s very
common to work memories or adaptations of past events into ordinary
dreaming, especially when they have powerful emotional connections,
something Sigmund Freud called “the day’s residue” of the dream.
After calamities, it’s not just the hope that reigns for most people.
Some lose hope, some does not. The destruction that’s brought by the
calamity will haunt them for a long time as it was already embedded within
their soul. That once in their lifetime, an occurence that they did not
expect to change their life in many ways, will be tattooed on their hearts
and minds forever. The ghost of their nightmares will stay with them if
they don’t find ways to fight with their own demons. Nightmare is defined
as a dream during the rapid eye movement, which provokes intense
negative feeling, such as panic, fear, terror, or anxiety. Everyone has
experienced a nightmare one time or another in his or her lifetime.
Calamities that passes by onto us really has their way of making them
unforgettable and remarkable in the worst way possible. Nightmare
responses after a calamity look very much like the common responses
seen after any sort of trauma.
Others might get over it easily at some point, but these nightmares,
for some, would take much time in order to completely shove it away from
them, without leaving any traces of it in their memory. Although it won’t
actually leave their memories alone, it’s not impossible to wish for
something greater than they’ve ever wished for. Their ghost of nightmares
will eventually fade away.
