- Since the child has a pneumonia during acute phase of illness, the nurse can
diagnose this with activity intolerance related to poor oxygen-carbon dioxide
exchange. The patient will experience inability to perform basic activities due to his
condition.

- Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an inherited disorder that causes severe damage to the lungs,
digestive system and other organs in the body. Since the patient is a child, it is best
for the nurse to give one capsule of medication and sprinkle on food so that the
patient will intake the medication without forcing him or her.

contains a class of medication called corticosteroids, gargle with water and spit it out. This
helps prevent thrush.
