1. Formal Letters:

Qi.Letter to Editor: You are Radha G, member of NGO AWAAZ, 33, Jal ViharWazirabad, New Delhi. Write
a letter to the editor of a national daily for a public movement to clean the Yamuna River. (You must
introduce yourself, describe how the people are to be blamed for polluting the river and suggest the
need for installing water treatment plant to clean the river.)

Qii.Letter of Complaint: Write a letter of M/s. Oxford Publishing House, London, complaining that the
books sent by them were not those you had ordered for. Ask for replacement. You are Varun Joshi,
Sector-20, Chandigarh.

Qiii.Letter of Enquiry: You want to visit Udaipur and two other cities of Rajasthan during the next
summer vacation. Write a letter to Director, Rajasthan Tourism, Jaipur enquiring about at least four
things that you consider important before you plan your visit. You're Sujatha Iyer, living at 3, Anna
Nagar, Nambaccum, Chennai.

Qiv. Letter placing order: You are Rita Raj, the Sports Secretary of ABC school, Adarsh Nagar, Nagpur.

to encourage education of the girls. Write an article, in about 150-200 words about the
scheme and its benefits not only for the girls but also for the society. You are Kiran.

c. You have decided to write an article in the school magazine on how it is important to save
the planet, Earth. Write an article in about 150-200 words. You are Anita.
